98 jeep grand cherokee dead

Truck ran fine on sunday. woke up monday am, no lights, no door chime, no radio, etc. No sound when turn of ignition.

Made sure battery posts and cable connects were clean and secure-still nothing. Got a jump, sounded like it wanted to hesitate, then started right up, let run for few minutes, turned off, went in house for few hours, came back out, heard the door chime when key was inserted into ignition, turned key, got nothing. No crank, no dash lights, etc. Only hear door chime when initial key in ignition.

It maybe as simple as corroded battery terminals. Somtimes they corrode between the post and the terminal itself. When you run light loads there is enough current passing through. When you crank the engine however, the large current flow will not pass. When you jump the car the clamps are biting on the outside of the terminal and current flows easy. Simply clean or replace the terminals and clean the posts as well to a silver shine and the trouble may go away

Battery needs charged/replaced....charging system needs tested... and you may have had this all caused by a parasitic leak ( electrical draw/drain) that needs to be found

Is there any way I can turn off the low fuel warning chime on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee? The dealer wants $100 to do this.

This chime is also the same chime used for the doors. To remove this you will also be losing the ignition chime when the keys are in the ignition or when the doors open.
It can be removed simply by unplugging it. Just open the door with the keys in the ignition, look under the dash on the driver or passenger side. using you good hearing locate the chime and simply disconnect the plug from the back.

Sounds like a bad ground.Check for broken connections or corroded terminals especially around the battery as acid tends to seep from them and corrode the connections.

Check the starter, selinoid, and then the ignition switch if the motor will not turn over. If it turns over without fire check the ignition coil and then the distributor.
