2006 vibe radio display light on left side won't light up

Only the right half of the radio display is visible except at night. Are there 2 bulbs lighting the display and if so, how do I change one?

RIGHT SIDE IS DARK LEFT SIDE IS NORMAL

My 2000 Vibe has right side dim and left side of display OK, but now the whole thing has gone dark. I need a new display. I found a place on the web that replaces displays.

Better get ready. mine was like this for probably 6 months but now it's completely out. I've heard the dealers just want to replace whole radio. I'm holding out on this. The radio/CD player are still working just no display.

Guys!
I have the solution for you. Mine had the same problem (right side started dimming and then the whole thing went dark a couple of weeks later.) I found a place in FL that fixes just the displays. The charge was very reasonable ($85+$25 shipping) and they did it QUICK! The name of the place is Factory Car Stereo Repair. http://www.carstereohelp.com/

You can even purchase instructions on Radio removal, although that isn't very hard to do yourself. http://www.carstereoremoval.com/htm/stereoremovalToyotaMatrix03_06P.htm

I am not from this company, but I promise you they did an excellent job for my Vibe!

I also own a 2004 Pontiac Vibe and our company delivery vehicle is a 2006 Vibe, both have this problem. I had a friend who repairs circuit boards re-solder new bulbs. You need to know what you are doing, the heat from the gun can burn out the new bulbs.

2006 Pontiac vibe, left side headlights (both) and fog lamps did not come on...replaced the headlight bulb and everything worked normally

Perhaps, but your replacement of a headlight bulb would not have "fixed" the other light outages, unless there is a sensor that can tell it was out and therefore, shuts every other light off until it is fixed. A little more likely is the action of moving things to replace the light temporarily "fixed" a bad connection at or near the bulb socket. If it happens again, you will have a clue to the location. It may also be some effect on the headlight relays.

The lights behind the radio controls don't work. Not sure if it is a fuse or light bulb problem.

There is a tiny bulb inside the radio that has burned out, the radio must be removed and the light replaced, this is best left to a radio repair shop as the common practice on new radios is to have the bulb hard wired into the circuit board at the front display.

1/2 Stereo Back light is Out

I had the same problem only the right side backlight was out on my radio. Directly in front of the gear shift will be a storage compartment. Open that by pushing on it and then there is one screw that needs to come out. You can now remove your radio with ease and replace the one bulb. They are about $5 each

Left turn signals won't flash, Right side works fine. Replaced front and rear turn bulbs (rear was burned out). Bulbs come on fine on the left side, they just won't flash.

Gday mate, we had a problem with another late model vehicle similar to that, the bulb that was put into the reverse light was not exact brand product ( ohmage was slightly wrong ) and fowled up computer, correct bulb in place and disconnect battery to reset K A M ( keep alive memory) problem solved, BEWARE, some vehicles cannot have KAM reset except for dealer computer tethered reboot , just try putting the factory correct bulb(s) in and see how it goes, geoff. hope this helped.

2003 Toyota 4runner: Half our dash does not light up. This is the portion that usually displays the temp setting in the car and usually lights up when the car starts - not just when the actual headlights...

My right side of this center dash window light that displays the temp.reading also went out on my 2003 4Runner. The letters & number were readable, but the back light was out to see everything at night. My mechanic said the bulb was out and he had to pull the section off surrounding the whole center dash portion that encompasses the radio, mileage, a/c & radio section. I left it up to them to do, since they said it would take an hour. Now the whole section lights w/o any problems.
