Remove all the screws that hold the plastic or what ever the console is made of out you can give the side of the console a little tug and figure out exactly wich ones you will need to remove and the go from ther once you get the console off there will be a couple of bolts holding it in

can you remove the CD by opening up the face cover and using a pen or pencil push in on the release hole most are equipped with this feature if not maby tweezers and grab a hold of the edge of the CD itself and help it out while in eject mode
The only thing that is left for you to do is to remove the stereo and then disassemble it and remove it yourself. A little daunting but needs to be done. Sounds like it went in wrong and then became jammed
the only thing i can sagest is that you leave the battery disconnected over night this may reset the cd player and it may

Recognise that it has cds in it the only other thing i can think of is that when it says enter single disk only that you do so to a point don't let it go all the way in this may make the cd player think there is a disk in there hope this helps ricko
My CD player did the same thing on my 2005 Chevy Malibu MAXX LS. I know it sounds weird, but disconnect the car battery from the car (resetting the whole car system), and then reconnect. I pressed the eject button on the console, and it ejected my CD with no problem.
