Idle adjustment at carburator end

most older cars had 2 adjustments , a air screw for enrichment and throttle screw for engine idle speed, later models did away with the enrichment screw, to adjust set idle screw to 600 rpm, adjust air mixture screw to fastest rpm , reset idle screw to preferred idle speed.

Which screw is feul setting screw and which is air setting one screw adjesting with spring which is that?

You have me concerned because you didn't even say carburetor...

So I am going to assume it...
and what make of vehicle (year?)... let alone the make or style of your "fuel" screws...

but to answer your question it really is unimportant.

Air-screw is always associated with the throttle shaft... the adjusting of the primary screw rotates the position of the plates on the throttle shaft exactly the same as the gas pedal does.

The fuel screw is usually pointed to the center of the air stack... if it is a two barrel (2 air stacks) there will be two identical screws.

These screws interface with a very soft and delicate orifice... and must be treated with the highest care not to damage that orifice! Never over-tighten those screws!!

Adjusting is an acquired ART... but everybody has to start at the beginning! As long as you are gentle you may soon get the hang of it.

Always set the SPEED with the idle screw first... Then adjust the FUEL with the idle screw...

Gently turning it out to see if the RPMs increase... slowly screw them in (closed) until the motor speed drops ... back it out about a half turn... and again set the AIR screw for the correct RPMs.

You are probably pretty good there but if you want the best/smoothest idle mixture... again repeat the Fuel screw screwing it in... until the speed drops.

Again back it out a half turn and you should be done.

Just always remember that idle screw is last... Change in anything else... especially the timing... points gap... air screw... always finish with the idle adjustment.

Good luck

My 2003 mdx DVD player is not working either, bought a used on off eBay and installed it but it still doesn't work. When I pushed the DVD button option all I see is "AUX" popped up. Any suggestions?

There are screw extractors that require a specific size hole drilled in the exact center of screw and then using the exctractor, will bring screw out. Use care in drilling center of screw and remove ALL metal drilled out of screw.

Daughter shoved coins in the CD and DVD players of our 2008 MDX, any thoughts?

Sticking anything in there could scratch the lenses of the player. So trying to remove the coins could cause more damage. Take it to your local Honda/Acura dealer to see if they can do anything. You can also try an automotive electronic store.

Screws for air filter ,screw heads are rusted and deteriated and cannot be removed with a scdew driver

you most likely have to get a drill and a screw reversing bit. the threads are in the opposite direction of the screw threads and when drilled into the screw head it will back the screw out of the hole. they are sold at walmart auto stores etc for 10-25$ dont forget to wd-40 the screw and let it sit for 20 - 30 mins to make the process a lot less painful

I have a 2004 Acura MDX Touring Model with a non-working DVD player for the flipdown screen for my backseat passengers. It was working fine but suddenly stopped working this past spring. When you put a dvd...

The trim panel around the NAV unit just pops out, there are 4-6 screws which hold the NAV unit in place. Disconnect the wires (they only fit in the correct holes) and pull it out.

This video is for a 2006, but might help you anyway.
