Question about 1990 Nissan Pathfinder

1990 nissan pathfinder

So the rod that is on both sides of my nissan, im not sure if its called the tension rod, or tension spring. i know it basically keeps the front end suspension up, it is sagging, where the control arm is at, the rod is bolted by the rasius arm with 3 bolts. so apparently the tention came loose, and i dont know if i need a new bar or what, someone told me if i take it off and let the tention off and let it reset if will solve the problem. my question is, what is it actually called cause i cant find a part if i dont know the correct name, and if theres something i could do to reset the tension.

I know this is probably not gonna help you but maybe someone in the future. I know the manual says you tighten the compression rod with the full weight of the vehicle on the wheel. So make sure he didn't install it and tighten up while jacked up.

I need to know how to replace the passenger side, front exterior door handle in my 1990 pathfinder

First, you remove the inside door panel. If you have reasonable experience with fixing stuff, after that it will become clear what to do.

2001 Pathfinder screeches on start

Remove the belt and check all pulleys for smooth operation. any binding at all is amplified when belt tension is applied. also check the belt itself...If it's glazed or dried out, it can be noisy.

Loud squealing noise

The noise is most likely the serpentine belt. Check it's condition and that of the belt tensioner. It sounds like the belt is slipping, causing the squealing noise u describe. As the belt warms up, it's getting a better 'grip' and the noise stops. Turning on the heat also turns on the a/c in newer cars, this added drag on the belt (one more component to turn, the a/c compressor) would explain why it happens when u turn on the heat. Is the belt original? If yes, it's time to change it, and check the belt tensioner to make sure it's doing it's job of keeping the belt snug on all the pulleys. Let me know how u make out.
