P1345 on chevy silverado 1500

Ok so, i have an obd2 reader, and i know the code says camshaft and crankshaft position sensors, after diagnosing it with my multimeter i found that the ckp was infact bad. i replaced it. still getting the same code. diagnosed the camshaft sensor on the distributor and its good. however the truck will not start. it will start if i put some gasoline into the throttlebody and continue to run after but will not start on its own. im stumped.

so im getting 12v to the coil and 12v to the ignition control module. how do i check to see if the control module is good. is it working if the coil is getting 12v or does the coil get its power from another supply? again the engine is cranking but it wont fire. timing is on. and it starts right up if i pour a little gasoline into the throttle body and will continue to run after. but it just wont start on its own.

so tomorrow i am going to look into the ecm. what should i be looking for. one website said there might be visible signs of burning or smell or something like that. is there a way to test the ecm? or do i just have to buy one and hope thats it. i found one for 100 bucks. if there was a way to test it and it came up bad i will be happy to buy a new one and be done with this mess. so if anybody knows of any diagnostics i can run on the ecm that would be great. thank u

Your issue is not with the ignition system or it would not run when you add fuel/prime through the intake, this has to be a pressure issue, check the pressure, hook up a test fuel guage at the injector test port (looks like a metal tire valve stem) on the fuel supply railn on the top of the engine, crank the engine and see if you have fuel pressure ( I bet you don't), you can buy a cheap fuel pressure test guage that goes on the test port for about $15 from Kragen and other chain parts stores like Kragen, I was a dealer tech for 30 years and just about all I did was your type of issue, no starts, check the fuel pressure and let me know. By the way CKP and CPS sensors tend to set false codes, I have seen it over and over, so I am not to worried about thiose sensors and am sure they are not the problem.

Check fuel pressure.
I am assuming you reset the computer (pulled the fuse or the neg bat cable for 3-4 min.) as that would be in the manual for your reader.

check the fuel pressure at the shrader valve in the fuel rail. if that is good , take a stethoscope ,pull the head off of it and put a long nail in the tube and listen to the injectors , see if they are clicking good and hard.
When you do get it going on its own , does it run like it should?
    change the fuel filter.

GM OBD2 code 1345 causes

either the crankshaft sensor needs to be changed or camshaft sensor. Both work together and are under that code.If you change the sensors you will need a crankshaft profile correction. This should be done by your dealer with the proper scan tool.

I have this code is p1345 i need one solution please.

P1345 is Camshaft To Crankshaft Position Correlation Fault. This code is set for a couple of reasons. Most common is a stretched timing chain. The other is the distibutor drive gear is worn. In some rare instances if the distibutor was removed for any reason and the engine was disturbed at all, the distributor could be put back in 1 tooth off, the engine will run but you will get this code.

How to fix p1345 obd code on 97 chevy 1500 5.7 Lt.

P1345 is "Crankshaft position sensor / Camshaft position sensor correlation"

Code P1345 determines if the distributor is installed incorrectly, or if a mechanical malfunction is present in the engine. The light will trigger when the engine is running and the camshaft sensor reference pulse is not detected at a correct relative position with the crankshaft pulse. Most likely causes for this Chevy check engine light code include a faulty crankshaft position sensor, a wiring concern or an improperly installed distributor. A quick check on the crankshaft sensor is to monitor the RPM value with a scan tool while revving up the engine. If the reading is close to twice the expected RPM, then the sensor is likely faulty. There are other less likely concerns possible, such as base engine or computer related issues, but these involve more in depth testing. I hope this information is useful.

  • P1345 - Crankshaft Position (CKP)-Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation.Let me know I believe I may be able to assist in correcting this issue. If it's not starting we'll have to reset the distribitor and bring the the engine to top dead center on cylinder 1.
