Question about 2006 Mitsubishi Galant
Can anyone tell me how to replace the light in the Shifter console where the Park/Reverse/Drive/etc is at? I do not remeber if it light up when we bought it or not. We are the 2nd owners and my wife wears that it worked before but I never drive it and I would think it would light up. Any ideas on how to do this and what is the terminology of this part?
If just the shifter light is out then it is not the fuse, the top plate of the shifter just pulls off, on some models there are 2 screws, the bulb is below that top plate.

lot of work. There is a bolt in the glove box that you will have to remove. first open your glove box and squeeze the two sides to drop the box out. then on the left towards the radio there is a gold bold. I believe 10mm socket would fit. unbolt that and that should free up the front to allow you to get the rest out. That little light is a pain to get to. alot of bolts and screws for one light.

You should be able to hear the clicking in the shifter and the switch--I think this is normal cause when mine is stuck in park you CANT hear it.
