My 02 camry wouldnt start the other day so i had a starter put on now it starts but it stalls when i let off the gas. waht could it be?

It is assumed you disconnected the battery when the starter was changed. If so, see posted solutions related to battery replacement or battery being disconnected for a while. Usually after a few days of driving the computer will reset the idle.

TRY THIS, LET YOUR WIFE GET IN THE CAR YOU GET DOWN CLOSE TO THE REAR OF THE CAR WHERE YOU THINK THE GAS TANK MITE BE. IT MUST BE QUIET GET YOUR WIFE TO TURN THE KEY TO ON NOT START WHEN SHE DOES YOU SHOULD HEAR THE FUEL PUMP RUN FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTILL IT BUILDS PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM. TRY THIS A FEW TIMES TO MAKE SURE. IF YOU HEAR NO SOUND OF SOME THING HUMMING OR RUNNING YOU GUESS IS RIGHT. THIS IS THE QUICKIST AND CHEAPIST WAY TO CHECK A FUEL PUMP

Is the engine "spinning over" FASTER than normal? If so, your timing belt has jumped a tooth.

SOURCE: my 89 camry stalled on me and know it wont start.

No clicking mean no power to the solenoid to engage the contact for the starter. If starter is not turning, you will not have spark. It stalled when you drove since not power to turn on the Electronic Fuel injection so you don't have gas. Now you don't have electric to your starter, then I suggest that you have some one to check ECM before starting replacing Starter, Fuel Injection...

you will need to get the vehicle diagnosed thru dtc scanner. scanning the dtc's will tell the tech where to start and most likley exactly what the problem is. sounds like a possible cam or crank sensor.

how do you know that the pump is working and how do you know the pump is pumping enough?

have you measured fuel pressure

furthermore, even if fuel pressure is "good" you may have clogged all the injectors when you ran out of gas and sucked up all the **** from the bottom of the tank

no need to pump the gas on fuel injected vehicles.

Its a 115000 btu multi fuel.it starts up,runs a few seconds,then shuts off.it doesnt smoke or anything wierd,it just shuts off.

It can be low fuel pressure issue or clogged fuel pump. Or its engine related issues,---------------

I just had the battery replaced in my '02 Camry. It will now start but stall when you take your foot off the gas. At Autozone they hook up to the computer and said there were no codes. Was told to drive...

had this problem twice after battery change and starter change....each time the car died on me about 5 or 6 times at idle...then it cleared itself and never happened again...
