If compressor isn't kicking in, check the connector atop the a/c accumulator, beside the coolant recover tank, in the engine compartment. That connector is atop a black bottle, and the connector goes to the low pressure switch. These switches do fail, and you can jump a wire across the connector terminals to see if the compressor comes on (engine running). As this circuit provides part of the ground path from the compressor clutch, if the switch is open, the compressor will never turn on. If the switch is failed, it can be replaced without opening the a/c system. Just disconnect the connector, unscrew the switch, replace it, and reconnect the connector.

SOURCE: air conditioner leaks (drains)into the front passenger seat floor mat

I had the same problem. Drilled a hole in the round plastic extension beneath the glove box, behind the carpet. Now run a coat hanger through it, followed by alot of compressed air. It may take several times, debri from above may be continuosly replugging drain. when you are done, clean thoroughly, and patch with hot melt glue. Good luck.

SOURCE: heat/ac not working on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side

SOURCE: Adding freon to air conditioner

If your system takes R-134 then the fittings for the high and low pressure are different sizes. You should only be able to fit the connector on the low pressure side.

Want to add refrigerant. air conditioner not very cool. which is low pressure port for adding r134a coolant?

The newer cars have 2 ports. The large port which is the high side and small port, low side. The kit you buy to refill the air cond will fit only one of the ports and that's the small port. You don't want to hook up on the high side so, this is why ports are sized and the gauge will only fit one. The low side should be near the evaporator or on the evaporator.

Is the compressor engaging? If not he needs to find if a sensor issue if its fully charged or a low pressure or refrigerant condition. You can have pressure without refrigerant.

You need to verify the real oil pressure with a good oil pressure gauge. These are pretty simple gizmoes with a gauge and a hose. Get a hold of one and it screws in where the pressure sender is connected. Most engines need around 45 psi at idle. If it's not OK look for diluted oil, wrong viscosity oil or worse yet worn engine bearing or oil pump.
