Question about 2000 Dodge Caravan

Gas tank is empty when gas gage read 1/4 full

A local garage replaced the fuel pump on my wife's 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan.  They indicated that they had problems replacing it; in fact, they replaced it a second time in less than two weeks because they installed it wrong.  Now the gas gage reads as if there is 1/4 tank of gas left when the tank is actually empty.  How do I figure out what is wrong and how do I fix it?

They could have installed the wrong pump assembly. I would first check to see if the float arm is binding on something not allowing it to reach the empty position. If you take the assembly out, have the key onand work the sender up and down thru its travel and see if the gauge matches the sender position. Disconnect the wire going to the pump so it doesn't get damaged.

How do you replace a fuel pump in a 1993 grand caravan?

The pump is in the gas tank. On some early 90s models you could access the pump thru an access plate without dropping the tank.
Otherwise you have to drop the tank and take the pump out thru the top. If you do replace it, make sure you replace the filter too.

My 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan fuel gauge does not move. I have gas in the tank, but the gauge shows the tank is empty (in fact, the dial is ~ 1/4" below "E").

the level sending unit in the tank is attached to the fuel pump module it is a varible resistor it moves as fuel level changes this sending unit can be replaced but if your going to the trouble of replacing it you just as well replace the fuel pump it comes together.

Oil light came on when idling; oil changed; still happening occasionally. If I put it in park or neutral and rev it - the oil light goes out. Could it be the oil sending/pressure unit? Is there an easy way...

make sure are using a genuine dodge oil filter and correct grade of oil to check further you need to have the oil pressure checked using a master gauge a garage would do this for you if ok replace pressure switch if very low could be pump and bearing wear is the idle speed set too low i would check this

1992 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3l dies on highway.

Its normal for the pump to run for three seconds then shut off if the car engine is off. . This indicates that the fuel pump turned on and the pressure did reach specifications. If the pump did not reach pressure the pump would continue to run, You need to check for proper pressure with a gauge. If tthe pressure is ok then you have another issue like an ignition module or crank sensor if applicable. You may have to drive the car with the fuel gauge hooked up to see if you still have pressure when it dies.. I know you said you replaced the pump already but do you have the same issues as before you replaced it. This would indicate which direction you need to go now. If the same then its prabably not the pump.

2000 Dodge Grand Caravan is getting no fuel to the fuel rail. The fuse is good and the relay also appears to be good. I don't hear the pump come on when turning on the ignition. Since the pump is in a full...

You are right on track, The fact that you did not hear the fuel pump come on is a very good indication the fuel pump needs to be changed.

Good JOB !

Good Luck

Ac/heating problem

Same problem for me. Local garage seems to think replacing the control module in the dash will solve the problem. I also have clicking sounds behind where the relay junction box is (under dash). My problem is intermitant so I'm also thinking that replacing a relay or two might also help.
