Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4WD
Before I was able to service the car, the check engine light went off. It hasn't come back on. Should I get it checked out? What would cause it to come on and then go back off?
The check engine light comes on to alert the driver that a fault has occurred in the emission control system, if after a pre-determined number of driving cycles the problem is no longer present the powertrain control module will turn the light off, most common cause of intermittent CEL lights is a failing or as we say lazy O2 sensor in the exhaust system.
