Question about 1999 BMW 323 Series
Hi , I recently got given a 1999 automatic BMW 320i convertible from a family member. The idea is to try & fix it and sell it to make a few quid. When starting it in the morning it is a nightmare as it takes forever.
it does fire up eventually with alot of help from the accelarator pedal and once started the amount of smoke that comes out from the exhaust is ridiculus. Could any1 tell me what this might be and if there a linked problem. Thanks
In the first instance. Unhook the air flow sensor and see if this make a difference. If it does your Mass Air flow sensor needs cleaning or replacing.
Try changing your airfilter and Spark plugs. I would also use some heavy duty injuctor cleaner in the fuel.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities.
It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then
it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure
or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty
ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.
