Brake lights flashing and wont turn off

A few days ago I was informed by a coworker that my brake lights were on. None of the other lights on the truck were on- 04' dodge ram 5.7 hemi.
I started the car, made sure all the light switches were off- even hit the brake a few times to see if that triggered something. I hit the alarm button twice and managed to turn them off. Over the course of the next few days they came on randomly and flashed in sets of 3-4 every few minutes. Again only the brake lights. I took the truck to the mechanic and he replaced the brake light switch which seemed to fix the problem for about 5 hours. they again began to flash.. which of course has drained my battery several times over the past week. My mechanic has also checked the fuses and everything else seems to be in just fine electrically speaking. I'm thinking it is the alarm system at this point but do not know which part is malfunctioning. Unfortunately my truck as 50k miles on it and is no longer covered by warranty. Any ideas on what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Id start by checking the relays and make sure the alarm wires dont have tears or cracks in them. if they do it could be causing a small short.

It is probably a problem with the alarm system you could try pulling the fuse for it

I would check every single fuse in the car. Blown fuses can cause weird issues like this. While the initial issue with the mechanic does sound like an alarm problem....the rest does not unless the shop that installed it really butchered the job.

think its a computer system issue-its all connectd these days-even with the steering--disconnect batt then put it back after a minute-may clear up--------if not pull plug at computer clean it and replug a few times-----these reboots at times work------but u mite need to run a thuro diagnostic to see different voltages-go to a good mechanic not a dealer--a hand held scanner will not do this

Look under the dash by the parking brake and try to see if any wires are being moved or chafed by the parking brake linkages. That is what I have found in the past.

My brake lights dont work but the tail lights come on when I turn on the headlights.

Check fuses first. Should be a fuse labeled 'Stop' or 'Brake'.

If fuses are good, climb under the dash and look at the brake switch, it's high up on the brake lever. Make sure it is operated by pressing in the brake pedal.

Oil light flashing, last oil change 7 wks ago

I belive they didn't reset the oil light timer. I belive the sequence is 1. key on (not acc with engine off)
2. step on the brake pedal 5 times within 10 seconds. 3. key off. 4. start car. 5. check if the light went out. you may have to try it a few times to get it.

Have you checked the brake fluid level. It might have a float switch in the master cylinder.
