When aplying brakes at almost stop i get chatter pre-mature braking how do i fix this.

YOUR ABS KICKS IN right before you stop? you have a wheel speed sensor dropping out at low speeds this is causing the abs unit to think one wheel is locking up activating system. need to have a scan tool on it to see which one is dropping out

Was your brake pedal on the floor or hard to depress? Your chattering might be the serpentine belt system. Remove the belt and test quickly again for noise, you will not have powersteering or cooling or charging systems, but you are just trying to pinpoint your chattering so you dont have to guess. You might want to replace your vacuum valve at power brake booster if your pedal was hard. It is a oneway valve that opens when the car gets turns on and pulls down a vacuum to assist the brake system. Sometimes the stick. If your brake pedal was on the floor, which I doubt at all, do not drive and seek professional help. Maybe your pedal assembly is coming loose and needs repinned.

How do I stop front disk brake pads from chattering?


Brake pads are eqipped with what they call "Feelers" these are metal tabs that will squeal or "chatter" when there may be a need for new Brake pads or rotor replacement or re-turning of rotors to their original shape and measurements.

You have a crack in one of the ABS sensor rings. When the brake pedal is pressed the ABS system looks at wheel speed and because of the crack, it thinks that the axle with the crack is turning a different speed than the others so it activates an ABS stop

My chevrolet pickup C1500 cheyenne 4.3 l have problem with my brakelight. the bulbs are ok but the lihgts do not goes on when i press my brake.


Depending on the year, assuming that it's between 88 and 98, I'd inspect the plugs on the circuit boards on the tail lights. They often go bad and require the boards to be replaced.

Unfortunately, this is characteristic of todays metallic and semi metallic pads, particularly if they become glazed. This condition can however be lessened or eliminated by applying a brake silicone lubricant to the back side of the pads, between the pad and the caliper. This will reduce "brake chatter", that is associated with disc brakes. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

Truck shakes severely when on the brakes


Your front brake rotors are warped. Remove them, see if they are turnable. (Metal brake lathe at auto repair shop, or auto machine shop)

The rotors have a minimum thickness. You cannot lathe them any thinner than this minimum thickness, or your safety will be at risk. (A reputable shop wouldn't even begin to ->Think about turning a rotor undersize. If they do this, and you are hurt, or killed, or someone else, they are liable!)

Your front brake rotors are like the shape of a thick disk, right? You have brake pads on both sides of this disk.

If the rotor is warped, you will have a thick edge on one side, and a thinner edge on the other side. (You're viewing the rotor from the edge)
As you apply your brakes the brake pads they squeeze against the rotor. They squeeze against the thinner edge, then suddenly the thick edge comes around.
This makes you brakes grab momentarily, then as the thin edge comes back around, the brakes let go.

Grab, let go, grab, let go. This is the teeth chattering stop effect, that occurs.

If the rotors can be turned, fine. If not, they will have to be replaced with new ones.

One more thing. As time goes by, this chattering effect when you are stopping, has put severe wear on your front end parts. You may have a bunch of front end parts that are badly worn. This is why it's imperative to have this problem fixed as soon as possible.

There is also the safety issue. What if you can't stop in time in an emergency situation? Either your life, and/or someone else's may be endangered.

check calliper assembly sliding pins they may need lubing with a bit of grease, check for anti rattle shims if there aply a tni film of sylicone on it face and reinstall

First your car want to check brake system.
1-check your bads and disck , or drums.
2-check your brake pipes and leak
3- check the brake master cylinder
4- check brake booster or brake assistant, you can check aply the brake after start the engine your feet brake will go down if not this is not working it is makes leak so change the booster. remove the brake master cylinder after you can loose four bolts under the dush boad.

How to fix my 2000 toyota tundra brake prolem


Chatter is caused by brake pad vibration, they make a paste that you put on the back of the brake pads to reduce it or make it go away, another thing that causes it is the rotors were no finished properly when they were turned, another issue is poor quality brake pads, I have always used Wagner or Raybestos brand they are the best and have anti squeak/chatter materials in the pad material.
