Assuming it's a power mirror, you'll need to make sure all the wireing is attached correctly. I'd suggest you go to www.autozone.com and register for free. Once registered you'll have access to dozens of repair manuals, some with detailed instruction to make DIY repairs.
the plug is inside of the mirror housing once you take the old mirror out if you need to plug it after the housing and you replaced the whole mirror the plug is inside the door panel
remove door panel and unplug the mirror if it is power and unscrew 4 or 3 bolts that hold the mirror remove and put all back to geter the reverse way realy easy
It is $47.40 plus tax for the left side replacement glass only and $54.00 plus tax for the right side glass only. These can be installed by just about anyone I believe they just pop in. If it is the whole mirror assembly then it could be much more than that. Good luck.
