You have coils (two) just under the plastic covering over the spark plugs. $99.00 ea. + tax 2 years ago. I think they maybe called ignition coils. Don't hold me to that.
That was what was wrong with mine. I went to a
dealer $850.. with labor and kept my car 2 days.

Replaced the fuel pump and filter on a 2001 pontiac grand am se. car wont start is there anything else or filter keeping the gas from going to the engine?

dont know if I can help but make sure the fuel pump comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition on if not check the relay under the hood you may need someone to help with this there are 4 terminals when you pull the relay out one will have power all the time with the key on another one will have power for a few seconds when you first turn the ignition on if you have power there and the fuel pump dosent run at all the relay may be bad you can also check the connection by the fuel tank for power when you turn the ignition on also I just put a fuel pump in my sons 2000 grand am and it did not start after I put the pump in but I could hear the pump running but we had only put a couple of gallons of gas in so I put another 3 gallons of gas in and it started I also just put a pump in my daughters 2001 grand am and it started right away but I had put 5 gallons of gas in right away You can also see if there is fuel pressure at the fuel rail on the right side or passenger side of the engine there is a connection to check fuel pressure you can take the cap off and use a screwdriver to push the valvestem in to see if there is fuel there and any pressure. if you have power to the fuel pump and plenty of gas and the pump wont run try hitting the bottom of the fuel tank under the fuel pump with a ribber hammer

Hello I am recently haveing a problem with my 1999 accent.. It turns over fine but the last few days it'll start in the morning and when i come home for luunch and park it i just wont start... Im thinkin...

Most likely when you found no pressure, the pump isn't working, Was there any gas being pumped out at all? three option here are a bad pump, fuel filter clogged, or your pressure regulator is bad. Disconnect the line right before the filter and have someone turn the engine over to see if gas will pump from here. Then disconnect the other end of the filter and check for gas flow. With the problem getting worse, it just sounds like the pump is on it's way out, which will usually happen this way. Starts a little and gets worse.

Why wont it start when you push start it has alt belt and has gas no ignition would that stop it from starting not geting gas to engin but all lines are holding gas so how do you bypass the fuel pump to...

When you turn the ignition on, it starts the fuel pump then sends fuel to the injectors. Since there is no ignition to engage the pump, it will 'starve' the vehicle of fuel. You might run a power source directly to your fuel pump but I'm NOT suggesting that because it would be wrong for me to tell you something like that... plus it could be dangerous. Remember, if you just happen to decide to do something like that, the fuel pump will not stop until you disconnect it (or it burns up). Be Careful!. Don't forget to vote if this helped you.

Car wont start

Could be a lot of things but i would start with the fuel pump. I would say 9 out of 10 time i get a car that cranks fine but wont start it turns out to be a fuel pump. Have the fuel pressure checked and go from there.

Ok i have a 1999 hyundai accent wont start changed fuel pump and it started ran very bad very! turned it off wouldnt start back up again checked spark plugs no spark and no power going to fuel pump we are...

Changing the pump doesn't affect the spark so lets start a that the beginning?? Why was the pump replaced and was it running fine before changing the pump? Also plugs could be fouled as well but if it was working fine before the fuel pump it will be fine afterwards if getting gas and the fuel pump was the problem., Also how did you verify no spark??

Will not start;will crankover

Step 1. Find a OBDII scanner (OBD stands for On-Borard-Diagnostics). Find out what DTC code (or codes) are stored in the ECU (DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code, and ECU = Engine Control Unit - it's the computer which manages engine operation).
Step 2. After you find out which code is stored in the ECU, go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register your veh (by VIN). Afterward, you can navigate the Hyundai Service Site to find out what system is giving you problems, the diagnosis procedure and what may be needed to fix it.
Nuff said... Let me know what you find.
