1999 Ford Expedition won't start

My wife ran it out of gas, I put 3 gallons of gas in it and it won't start. I checked the fuel pump reset switch and it was okay. It is acting like the fuel pump is not working. I hear nothing when I turn it on. Where is the fuel pump fuse located?

It should be under the dash near the brake peddle, also a relay fuse under the hood. the fuel filter might have clogged up also. but you should be able to hear a faint whirring sound if the pump is working.

Ford expedition ran out of gas

Ran out of gas and What?

Won't start?

Could have ruined an already worn fuel pump

Turn key on/engine off should hear pump run
for 3 or 4 seconds

Check fuel pressure if it runs with a gauge on
injector fuel rail or with a professional scan tool
data.

Try spraying the throttle body to see if it will run

Try disconnecting the battery AFTER you check for
codes, stored data, etc & write down what you get

2002 Ford Explorer ran out of gas put gas in and won't restart. replaced fuel pump and fuel filter still won't start. Cranks but won't start

Most Fords have a fuel reset button. When you ran out of gas you tripped the circuit. Most of the time the button will be on the passenger side by the kick panel. The exact location should be in your owners manual or your local library or auto parts store will have a copy of one for your specific vehicle.

1995 ford escort. quit running while it was being driven. does not want to start back up. tried putting more gas. tried to reset shutoff switch in trunk, it won't budge. listened for a click from

You know that running the later model vehicle's out of gas burns out the fuel pump as they are lubricated and cooled in GASOLINE now knowing this the fuel pump is under the rear seat so remove it and check the pump or better yet since you keep it low on fuel I would replace it and then find out why it shut off if this doesn;t fix it Now this is an educated guess .Or you gas purchase an in expensive fuel presure gage and test it I n the fuel rail on the engine you will find what looks like a valve stem for a tire where you put air in only stainless steel this is the hook up it should read about 39 lbs and hold if it drops with in 30 minutes the pump is bad and way and will quit intermitley if you get nothing check the relay and listen for the pump to make a buzzing sound if the relay is OK replace the pump now this is a thirty second thought for me to check one out but I am 60 years old and have been doing this since I was a young kid now you have enough info to be dangerous BE CARE FULL GAS is DANGEROUSjlelandthomas

The gas pump was replace on my 1999 ford expedition but still is not working

There are a few things you can check. The first thing and most likely what the problem is would be the fuel cut off switch. Below is a picture of it the location of it. Where you see the blue arrow pointing down is where the button is that you push to reset it if it is "popped". If that is good the next thing you can check is the fuse for the fuel pump. That fuse is located in the power distribution box located in the engine compartment under the hood (picture of that location below as well) I also gave you a diagram of the layout of the fuses with numbers. The fuse for the fuel pump is the fuse located in the number 10 position and should be a 20 amp fuse. Last you may need to check the fuel pump relay. That relay is located in the same fuse panel and will be the one marked number 301. I hope this helps and good luck.

MY WIFE RAN OUT OF GAS,PUT 5 GALLONS IN AND STILL WONT START,JUST REPLACED FUEL PUMP ALSO,WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE.

Did you try pumping the petal a few times when cranking it over? So you could get some fuel into the pistons.
Could also be a fuse, have you checked them? is it making any noises? Try using some starter fluid. Works wonders sometimes

turn on the switch, can you hear the fuel pump run?
if so checke the fuel filter, and also release the pressure at the shredder valve on the fuel rail
if you cant hear the pump run then then check the fuse for it if its good then youve got a bad pump!!!

2000 Ford Expedition Starting problem

If the fuel gauge drops off when you are driving then its a sending unit problem that means you have to drop the tank and replace the float and sending unit. This is a common problem for alot of cars because of cheap gas. If you have to drop the tank check the fuel pump canster for dirt because of cheap gas. Replace the fuel pump strainer and fuel pump filter. If the car or truck has about 100,000 miles you might want to change the fuel pump at that time also just to cover your back. If you take it to a shop they will charge you at least $900 to start. But if you do it yourself it will cost you about $200 dollars maybe alittle more.
