Question about 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
When first started, the trans will seem to want to start in 2nd gear. It shifts fine throughout driving and shifts down fine just not to 1st gear. Now, if I drive for a while and shut the vehicle off(such as running into a store) I seem to get 1st back and works just as fine. Oh, another juicy detail is that sometimes(rare), it will stick in first gear and not shift down. It seems to only happen when its hot. I let it cool and we are back to the first issue of running cold. Any ideas, as I have none?????
Many times this is caused by either a sticking electronic shift solenoid in the transmission or the trans fluid and filter need to be replaced, has the trans been serviced, it should have been done at 60,000 miles.
