Are you sure it's is ****** fluid and not oil? Just asking because that sound odd. If it is oil it would be a head gasket. In that case the bottom of the radiator cap will look like choclate milk. If you're sure it is trans fluid it would be cheaper to put a aftermarket transmission cooler on it and plug the radiator off where the lines hook in.

trasmission oil need to be cold you have trasmission line that bring the oil to the radiator to get cool off that cooler is crack and that why the oil goes in the prestone good luck pierre
SOURCE: my trans fluid is mixing with my radiator fluid, what can i do.
I hate to contradict the prior poster, but I would not see how a blown head gasket could get transmission fluid into the radiator. Motor oil, yes, but transmission fluid, no.
the transmission fluid in your tranny runs out of the transmission and up into the radiator to cool it off.
So if there is transmission fluid in the radiator, I'd look for a leak in the radiator. If it is mixing the two fluids then the leak is probalby internal.
Remember that if the radiator is now 'mixing' water and transmission fluid, there is a possibility that the fluid/water mixture may be going back into the transmission as well

I've worked with GM for 30+ years and I have to say dex-cool is one of the sorriest coolants I've ever seen. It lasts no where near as long as the old green or universal coolants and it also causes the coolant system to corrode. I replace all coolants at my shop with the global coolant unless the vehicle is under warranty for that purpose.
To answer your question, the global or universal coolant is a far superior coolant to dex-cool regardless what GM says and is kinder to the coolant system.
SOURCE: trans fluid is low(pink and foamy) must increase
your radiator has gone bang.the radiator is devided in two.1 half is coolant and the other half is trans fluid.the trans fluid runs through the radiator to keep it cool before running through the gearbox.whats happened is the shelf inside your rad has collapsed and your coolant has mixed with the trans fluid and gone into your gearbox and vice versa.expensive job, whole strip down sorry to say mate

If this is a 3800, Upper Intake Plenum or Lower intake gaskets are an inevitability. Head gaskets on these engines rarely go out! Seriously, don't get duped. I am doing the job on my grand prix right now. Google it for further explanation.
