i have the same problem but havent changed the battery yet as i have been given 3 possible reasons for it, our breakdown assistance RAC told me the battery isnt holding a charge, an auto electrician told me there is an intermittent drain of some sort on the battery and amechanc blames the alternator, unlike you mi havent been assured of the problem and didnt want to buy a battery and find it wasnt to blame. my car has been acting strangly for a couple of weeks before the starting problem, things like my window wouldnt go back up until after a few minutes, my radio goes on and off and my speedo doesnt come on sometimes but all other instruments are fine its very odd sometimes when it fails to start the alarm set starts ringing even though the car has never made the sound before i dont know what to suggest i am at a loss. ann.

Sorry, but it sounds like the altenantor not the battery. most autoparts stores will test them for free, but you'll have to take them out yourself. goodluck

Replace a fuel pump on a 1993 Chrysler Fifth Avenue

It sounds like a fuel line broke, most likely because it rusted through. The fuel pump is running otherwise you wouldnt see any fuel spewing out from under the car. Get under the car and see where the line broke. In most cases, you can replace the broken section of line and it will be fine.
To answer your question though, to replace the fuel pump, you will need to remove the fuel tank from the car, as the pump is attached to the sending unit inside the tank. To remove the tank, you will need to disconnect the fuel filler neck, the fuel lines, and unplug the electrical connector, then get a jack under the tank and remove the straps holding the tank in the car. Lower the jack and you will be able to access the top of the tank where the sending unit is located. Romove the lock ring holding it in, and remove it from the tank.

Just bought a new battery.Whenever i turn anything on a/c,radio,headlights,the red charge lite comes on.Wont start without a jump. When it was running i took the terminals off the battery & nothing...

Never take the cable off when running. Its so hard on the voltage reg. And the alternator. Take the alternator and get it tested free at auto-zone or O rilleys. they test mine free all the time. Hope this is helpfull .. Sawdust46
