SOURCE: How to change a water pump on a 1999 Buick Century 3100?

the water pump on the 3.1 isnt to hard to change ...

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Remove the drive belt guard.
  4. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts before removing the drive belt. This should help keep the pulley from turning as the bolts are loosened.
  5. Remove the drive belt. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and remove the pulley.
  6. Remove the water pump bolts and separate the pump from the engine front cover.

SOURCE: change fuel pump on 1994 buick park avenue

Drain all gas as much as possible for weight reasons, Unhook fuel lines, unhook electrical connections, and ground connections, filler tube, and straps, then tank will drop out. Remove retaining ring on sending unit remove unit from tank taking note how it comes out because its got to go back in the same way it came out, chg. pump on sending unit there is one electrical plug, reinstall unit in tank with retaining ring, assemble in reverse order.

Fuel Pump Location

The 2.8 engine in a 1986 Century uses a carb instead of fuel injection. So it uses a mechanical pump that goes in the side of the engine.

Sounds like a fuel pump going bad. Try replacing the fuel filter first and get the pressure checked.

Where is the fuel pump located in a 1994 buick century

It is inside your fuel tank. In order to replace it you will have to remove your gas tank because it is mounted on the top side of your tank.
