IN Gas tank!! if you have no experience with this take it in get it done!! if you have a 1/2 tank of gas you will need a hoist!!or drain it some how that will weigh more than you can handel on your back! on the ground! it is hard to price it!!! if fuel lines ans gas tank straps are all reusable and do not break in the coarse of removal and installation and gas tank has no leaks and can be reused fuel pumps usually run $75-350 yours should be in the $65-$100 range!?? labour? what ever your garage will charge I did two fuel pumps and one new gas tanks yesterday 2 hours! but garages go by flat rate labour guides!!!!good luck hope this helps!
SOURCE: change fuel pump on 1994 buick park avenue
Drain all gas as much as possible for weight reasons, Unhook fuel lines, unhook electrical connections, and ground connections, filler tube, and straps, then tank will drop out. Remove retaining ring on sending unit remove unit from tank taking note how it comes out because its got to go back in the same way it came out, chg. pump on sending unit there is one electrical plug, reinstall unit in tank with retaining ring, assemble in reverse order.
SOURCE: how involved is timing belt replacement for buick century
Your car does not have a timing belt,it has a timing chain. To remove the cover you have to remove the power steering pump and set aside, water pump, crank sensor, and crankshaft pulley. You might possibly have to remove the oil pan also.Hope this helps.Good luck.
