Question about 1999 GMC Suburban

1988 Chevy Cherokee truck won't start

Our truck wouldn't start after a short drive. We had turned it off, was gone for about 10 minustes and when we came back it wouldn't start. Wouldn't even turn over. We were able to get it started after jumping it and it seemed to run fine. The next day we started it to see if it would start, then turned it off after it did. About an hour later we went to start it and it wouldn't start. This time we had lights and door sounds in the interior of the truck and it wouldn't start after trying to jump it. (no surprise because it didn't seem like the battery was dead.) Now a day later and it still won't start. Any ideas?

Is there enough power in the battery to continuosly turn the starter, or does it just click? Does the battery have corrosion on the terminals? Is the battery very old? Prior the this episode of stalling, was the acceleration and pullling growing weaker?

My buddy has a 1988 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0L. He was driving it home and it started acting like it was running out of gas. Then it died and wouldn't restart. Now the fuel pump will not turn on,

I kind of agree it may be the ecu. but first, look for a green 20amp fusible link, turning into a red wire. Your wiring diagram shows this fusible link is the power source for the fuel pump relay. It is called Fuse Link G. Should be near the battery.

Might just have been the right time for the fan to burn out. Buy a new one, junkyard parts are another option, but make sure you test it before you buy it.

I got a 1988 chevy s10 4x4 6cly 4.3 it ran last

Check the distributor, it's common for condensation to form under the distributor cap and the wires and Ignition control module may have gone bad due to corrosion. Start with that and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your S 10 running again. Good luck friend.
