Engine will not crank at all...still getting electric power

I'm still getting electrical power to all functions lights, fans & radio etc., but the engine will not turn over at all....when i turn the ignition key the vehicle gives a little bump and then nothing else...i was riding along and the car just stopped as i was about to make a left turn...the check engine light had not been on and there seemed to be nothing wrong up to that point...once again this is a 2004 jeep liberty....which had been running fine up to this happening today

OK... my baby comes home today after 3 days of trying to figure this out... it is a broken piece in the steering column that disengages the iginition. It is not the starter, not the alernator... Wheel must come off and part replaced... about $200.00
Good luck.

Electrical power loss under engine load

It could be a throttle position sensor is the check is light on? There is also a crank position sensor that has to be re learned sometimes with engine swaps as well

Won't turn over

Even though all your other electrical bits are working it could be that your battery doesn't have enough juice to crank the engine. It doesn't take much power to run the radio, lights, etc, but cranking the engine requires the battery to have a very strong charge. If your battery is more than 5 years old, that's very likely the issue. I'd start there. Also, be sure to check the battery terminals and ground for corrosion and clean if necessary. If replacing the battery doesn't solve the problem it could be the starter solenoid or a loose electrical connection somewhere.

I changed the alternator on my 1996 grand am gt and the car ran good for 5 min. then the lights started to go on and off and the car shut off. now it wont start.

Could be a number of things. First I would check electrical. When you say the car won;t start do you mean it has no electrical power? (no lights, radio, starter doesn't crank etc). If so then the main power wire off the alternator may have touched ground and you blew the maxi fuse or damaged the wire. Did you see or smell any smoke coming from the engine area? That is where I would look first. Don't just change a fuse without finding what caused it to blow. Let me know so more info and we will figure it out.

make sure you have fuel preasure, it could be a bad crank sensor or a fuel pump. good luck.

01 Suburban engine, 8.1 liter, abruptly turns off

Its the crank sensor. There was a recall a few years back for 2001 8.1 liter engines crank sensor. Engine would shut off perodically and sometimes would not restart untill cool. Plus it just happened to mine. about a 350 dollar dealer fix.

No electrical power to engine

check you fuses and clean your battery terminals, you might have a relay that controls you ignition. or could be your coil pack.
