Question about 2001 Ford Focus

Air bag light 2001 ford focus

The air bag light comes on when I start the car , but then it starts flashing. It cycles about 4 times then it just stays on . I recently replaced the seats and carpet , I took everything out out except the drivers seat for couple of days and drove the car until I got the new seats and carpet, and now its been on since . This only started after I pulled every thing out. I rechecked all the wiring under the console . Any suggestions?

The computer probably just needs reset because the seat belt warning feedback is tied in to airbag system. try disconnecting the neg battery terminal for about 5 min

My air bag light just started coming on recently what 's causing it to do that

It could be a failure of any one of the sensors, or of the entire control unit. The light itself will flash in a "code", with the number of times it flashes and then pauses. While I don't know what that "code" is, your mechanic will be able to tell you. There may be more information online if you start with the year/make/model and then try to figure out what the timing of the flashes and pause is. Sometimes the sensors can be very inexpensive, or the control unit can be bought from a salvage yard. WARNING! Working on an airbag system can be dangerous. ALWAYS remove the battery as it can trigger a bag to inflate.

it might need another can, with ac on and controls turned to ac max the compressor should start cycling as the freeon is added. if not you might have a low or high pressure switch that is bad check fuzes incase you blew the fuse for the ac compressor

check your owners manual,I think your car has a fuel shut off switch.they are usually located in the trunk on the drivers side.they need to be reset if you are in an accident or when the airbags deploy.
