The front axles on the front wheel drive cars have a rubber boot that protects the components from road debris and moisture. Over time the boots crack and split, allowing contaminants in, which damage the axle, resulting in the clicking noise u hear. To confirm this, jack up the vw and support it w/ safety stands, check the axle boots (located behind tire at center) for cracks, splits, and evidence of grease around area from inside of boot. Let me know what u find. This is a rather labor intensive repair. I haven't done a vw, but recently did my honda, replacement axles only cost $50 each, but I spent a lot of time replacing them. Keep me posted.

Drive shaft universals worn.check rubber boots ok with no splits or or leaking grease. If boots have split and dirt got in then change the ends only, but its possible to remove the end and by turning cage around extract the ball bearings, wash the lot out with diesel and fit a new boot and re pack with grease ---yes i know it could still knock a bit and fitting new yea yea but it might work and evan if their is a bit of noise on turn ignore it till it gets really bad as they could last another 100,000 kms

VW Golf 2007 1.9TDI, I was recently in a accident approx 20mph, and crashed head on into a turning car. What is making the kinda rattling/clicking noise, more noticeable during gear changes.

This could be almost anything from loose trim to broken body parts, you should get the car checked by bodyshop to make sure that it is safe to drive

When backing up 1994 Golf its makes a knocking noise on the drivers side

  • Are you backing strait up when this noise happens? Or are you turning the wheel also? Also is a definite knock of perhaps a more click click click click.? Does this even happen when going forward? When the car is in drive and you put your foot on the brake and go into reverse, do you hear a profound clunk? Please answer the questions posed to help me help you a little better.

Grating soung coming the front wheel

is it like a growling noise, or a metallic "metal on metal" noise, is it clicking? when do you hear it? Common for wheel bearings to go out on those in my experience. usually you can narrow it to a wheel bearing if when you sway the car, you hear a growling noise towards the heavy end of the car, meaning if you turn to the left, causing the car to naturally sway right, the right hand tire front or rear starts making noise, thats usually a wheel bearing. If its a clicking noise while cornering and especially when corning with acceleration, thats usually a CV axle. if its a metal on metal noise, that can be a brake pad worn to low, or even just a simple backing plate to the brake rotor touching and rubbing the rotor.

Clicking noise when turning steering wheel cannot be heard when driving car is a 2oo4 focus edge

cv joints click when turning corners. usually turning left means right joint is bad , turning right means left is bad... hard to tell with out looking at it , but sounds like a bad axle,

Hi, problem with 2007 VW Citi Golf radio security code.

The radio is in Lock-Out mode. You only get two attempts to enter the code, then it enters Lock-Out mode.
Put the key in ignition and turn on the radio for an hour (maybe a bit more). The radio should reset itself after about an hour and then you can re enter the code.

1995 immobiliser problem

Hi

After some closer inspection, I found that somebody tampered with the startermotor's wires. They cut the 12V wire and stripped the other. So when you disable the immobiliser, and turn the ignition, the 12V that should be applied thorugh that wire is not present. Simple to fix, but flipping anoying!!!

Thanks
