use a press to push out the rubber and then use a hacksaw blade to cut through remove the blade and pass it through the hole and then do the hack saw back up.. Then use something like a flat blade screw driver and drive it between the body and the metal insert and break next to where you have cut

remove the arm ,then burn the rubber in the bush out ,then reverse the hacksaw blade in the saw and put the blade through the hole and cut the outer buh casing in possibly two places so it comes out easy.then put the new busgh in the freezer for a hour or two and push into the hole simple

Use needle-nose pliers to pull the broken key out, if there is enough of it sticking out of the ignition to grab. Put a little melted wax, Museum Putty or Super Glue on the pliers before you grab the key.

Make sure that the ignition is in the "neutral" position so that the tumblers are not gripping the key. If it is in the locked position, insert a thin hacksaw blade--with the teeth facing up--next to the broken key, and turn the ignition to the "neutral" position.

Pull gently up on the hacksaw blade. If you are lucky, the teeth will grab the key and slide it out. Try this with the hacksaw blade behind the key, and again on top of the key. Most keys have a groove on them that the hacksaw blade can grab, so wiggle and twist the hacksaw blade around and see if you can feel it catch the key.

Try using the hacksaw blade and the pliers together--pushing with the blade and pulling with the pliers.

Cut or break a six- to eight-inch piece off of a wire coat hanger and use your pliers to fashion a small hook at the end. Slide this into the ignition behind the key and try to grab it. If that doesn't work, insert the wire in front of the key and try again.

Spray a little cooking spray or WD-40 into the ignition and try again with the hacksaw blade. Remember to try both in front of and behind the key, and to wiggle the blade. Do not spray the lubricant before trying the pliers or wire, because now your key is not only stuck, it is slippery.

Call a locksmith if the above steps do not work. Do it before you get too frustrated, because it is much cheaper to replace a key than it is to replace a key and a shattered ignition.

• Take a long flat tool/piece of metal and slide it down the front side of the headrest bar. A long thin hacksaw blade works well (don't cut yourself) This keeps the buttons from falling out of their holes. guaranteed to work.

It is threaded. I use an air powered saw to remove these. It is a common problem. You can do it with a hacksaw blade. Stick the blade in and cut outward into 3 or 4 pieces. Just cut till you hit the threads. Then pry the sections out one at a time. The new one will be metal. Or you can use a large easy-out.

There is a spring steal clip along side the shaft it is mounted to.You can take a thin piece of metal to push the clip in while pulling up.A piece of hacksaw blade does it for me!

pressed in but can be removed by cutting with a hacksaw in reverse so to speak ,remove blade and push through bush to cut out the metal casing then pull new ones through with a long bolt and socket

I believe if the door lock uses the same key it might be simpler to remove the door lock as most cars have an anti theft type bolt that holds the ignition switch on. If you choose you can get the ignition
switch off if you can access the bolts with a hacksaw blade. Just cut a slot in the head for a flat screw driver. Then you can remove the bolt.
