My front light has been broken and I will like to change it.
When taking the two fixing screws off, together with the electric plugs in the back of the light it will still not come off. How much extra do I need to remove in order to release the front left front light ?

There are a series of 2.5 mm allen head screws around the perimeter of the panel, remove those with an allen wrench. Then pry the cover by the pull handle off(by the window switch) and there are 2 philips head screws. Remove those and the panel will come loose. Disconnect any connectors for the mirror switch and it's off.
There is a light cover in front of the battery... take this off and then look for the metal clamps holding the light housing in. (I say clamps, but they're more like glorified paper clips on either side of the fixture.) Press in on each side, pushing the clamps towards each other and pull the fixture out.
Know the everything before you go in. If you know what the warranty covers, and you are there for that and meet the warranty criteria, it will be a lot harder for them to give you the run-around when you go in.
I looked around a bit, and apparently there is an issue with the TDI front fenders and the paint flaking. Other than that, the warranty is probably like most and only covers corrosion. I'd look/ask around about the problem on your car. There are several online VW/TDI forums that will probably be able to tell you everything you would want to know.
I ran into the same problem with my 1997 golf with a pair of halo projector lamps, i ended up going to the local hard ware store, getting about 8 screws 2 inches by 1/8 inch threaded with bolts to secure and washers (about the size of an u.s. quarter) to put in place for adjustments. you will need to bend one or two of your head light mounts (the metal where the light mounts to the car) out, so you can mount the light to the car. once u just bend the car mount from facing down to facing the front of the car, you will be able to secure at least 3 out of the 4 mounts, in my case i had to use a zip tie for the bottom-outside mount, but you might get lucky with yours.
under the mirror there should be a 1 1/2 slot door under mirror that looks like a flat lid this will be flush with mirror moulding where it looks like a quarter can turn it
this is the light access panel the detachment screw is threw this panel to take off mirror then you can access the bulb
