I am sorry but the delaer is correct, there are 3, and the bad news is the after market cats won't work, the check engine light will come on if you use them and for that reason you will fail smog tests, the issue is how much they flow and the way they work is not compatable with the programming of the powertrain control module, stick with the factory cats, I know they are expensive but in the end you will have to buy them.

I take it that this is an all wheel drive model. If so ,I recommend have a local repair shop do this, exsperiance is suggested. Ihave watched techs damage the driveshaft yokes. They tend to bend fairly easy on this model.

The RDM or Rear Differential Module on these GM vehicles (Vue, Torrent, Equinox) is a known weak point. It is most likely shot as the trans outputs power to the front and rear equally; gearotor pump(s) in the RDM then assign traction to each rear wheel if the wheel is turning slower than the input. So if it is still turning it must not be transmitting that torque to either "braked" rear wheel... There was a recall for the RDM in which GM quietly increased the slippage at which it engauged the rear wheels due to high failure rates...

Ok replaced my muffler about a months ago because it sounded like it may have had a hole in it, the sound was still there but not as loud. About 1month ago to avoid hitting a lil girl i slammed on my brakes so hard that my rear drive shaft ( middle circle w/rubber around it) snapped. Had to get that part taken off because the bolted part was banging under my truck. i drove around for about a month without the rear drive shaft on. 2days ago i got it replaced, but that muffler sound is still coming from front of the truck . what could it be????
