SOURCE: Whining Noise

Sure sounds like a power steering pump, if they did not flush the grim out of the system from the old pump before they replaced the pump the new pump will fail in short order.

SOURCE: Unable to hear AM radio Static, Whining noise,

The filter in the radio has gone bad or the antenna connection shield is not grounded properly. Electromagnetic interference is the problem. Difficult to run down. Try another radio to determine if it's simply the internal filter in the radio/audio head. If a different radio eliminates this noise, the problem is in the radio's filter. If the problem is still there, is't most likely in the antenna circuit.

SOURCE: Whining noise when AC or heat is on coming from engine compartmen

I suspect it is the blower fan and the ductwork for the air intake to the blower picks up the air in front of the engine compartment.

It would also be a good idea to have your alternator checked and use the A/C heat controls to see how much the blower motor is demanding from the alternator. Autozone and Oreillys will check the alternator on the car for free.

SOURCE: Whining noise at low speed

If the noise happens when car is in park and you rev it to about 1500rpm's then its thebearing in the oil pump of the torque converter. It should make noise all the time even in park ideling. You may need a rebuild transmission. Have the vehicle checked out at a transmission repair shop

2001 Ex 5-speed. Whining noise when reviving the engine mainly at lower RPMs after warmed up. Ideas on where to start?

That is symptomatic of a power steering pump problem. Get a length of plastic tube and put one end to your ear and the other end by the steering pump and then by the alternator. A tube stethoscope is great for tracing noises. Mine whined when it was low of fluid, I had a leaking pipe.

Loud whining noise especially on exceleration in 2010 Mazda Tribute

A loud whining noise on acceleration in a 2010 Mazda Tribute could be a sign of a few different issues. Here are some potential causes:
  1. Power steering pump: A whining noise can be an indication of a failing power steering pump. The noise may increase when the steering wheel is turned.
  2. Alternator: If the whining noise increases with engine speed, the alternator may be failing. This is because the alternator is responsible for charging the battery and powering the car's electrical system.
  3. Transmission: A whining noise during acceleration could also be a sign of transmission issues, such as low transmission fluid levels, worn bearings, or a damaged gear.
  4. Differential: A whining noise that increases with speed could also be a sign of a failing differential. This is the part of the car that transfers power from the engine to the wheels.
It's important to have a professional mechanic diagnose and fix the issue to prevent further damage to your vehicle.

1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse whining noise from the rear when accelerating

A whining noise during acceleration usually, is from the gear set, indicating the pinion is too close to the ring gear.
I believe the eclipse is a FWD car though. Could it be the transmission you are hearing?

Whining noise while accelerating in 1st gear

Check the idler and tensioner pullys for your serpentine belt. I suspect the whining noise heard earlier was due to the fact one was getting a bit stiff or rough turning. When you gave it that extra fuel, the sudden load may have finished it off. Sometimes they lock up, and sometimes they fall apart. Check those items first.

Whining sound from under van only when i push the gas.

The serpentine belt is the most common cause for whining sound when accelerating, try to understand if noise is coming from serpentine belt.

Also check power steering belt under steering column, and also the rotor and chain, thei do not make whining noise , but can make noise when accelerating.

The belt is first suspect.
