Question about Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I have a clicking noise right before and just after I turn off my engine in my 1994 Chevy Silverado. From what I was able to find out it is my vent actuator. I have never replaced one of these before. Can anyone give me some directions and let me know how difficult it is. Thanks.
I had the same problem and changed it myself. It was a job but can be done yourself. Some call it a Recirculation door actuator, some call it a blend air door actuator. If you look under the dash behind the glove box all the to the fire wall you can see it.There is 2 screws 1-top 1- bottom which you can see easily, the top one you cant see from bottom you have to take out the glove box to see. There is a plug that goes to the actuator, you can actually just unplug it to stop the noise, that will fix the noise and I know some people dont replace the actuator they just leave it like that. I had to go buy a air socket wrench to replace, the smallest one I can find. I wouldnt have done the job without it. Good luck hope this helps. Steve
