Make sure that all the electrical connectors are plugged back in ...just one can create havok !

1999 Mercury Mountaineer wont start


It may be a fuel filter issue, or like the mechanics said, fuel pump. It is a fuel injected model, so that may be the issue also.

My husband is working on a 1994 mercury mountanier 4.0 and he needs the timing chain markings can anyone help us out? confused in alaska


Are you certain about the year model? I think they only started with mountaineers in '97. The 4.0 engine has no timing marks. You need special tools (pulley bolt wrench, camshaft aligner and pulley aligner) Good luck on getting a workshop manager to part company with those for a couple hours.

I have a 97 mercury mountaineer that the check engine light came on in and what can I do to turn it off


try unhooking the negative side of the battery, wait a couple minutes and then hook it back up.

97 murcury mountaineer blows #10 fuse


check for a short by the starter exhaust melts these wires together good luck
