Question about 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

Oxygen sensors 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

I have a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder and have a sensor problem. Basically, the car runs fine until the check engine light comes on. At any random time the car can then shut off, andn then immediately restart or after running for a while, it is possible to startbut a puff of white smoke bellows out and then nothing. I mean the truck seems to run fine. After tyhe sensors are reset, it runs for a while and we then gom through the whole sequence again. I need help.

2000 Nissan mis firing,, code reader shows codes: 0430; 0305; and 1320. Assuming its bank 2 cat convertor. Is this where i should start???

430 is Oxygen sensor

0305 is misfire on cylinder 5

1320 is ignition coil.

The ignition coil is causing the misfire. That is causing rich mixture which could case the oxygen sensor issue. You need to work from the ignition issue to the sensor. The reason is if you replace the cat and the engine is running rich it will heat the cat up to the point that the car might catch fire. Oxygen sensors are also prone to fail after about 60 thousand miles.

Check the relays and fuses for the H.E.G.O (heated oxygen sensors) for power and function.

How will engin run if oxygen sensor is bad

THE OXYGEN SENSOR helps to control the delivery & performance of the FUEL & AIR MIXTURE, TELLS COMPUTER the amount of oxygen in the exhaust, which inturn, the computer delivers more fuel, air, etc., to your demand ! it also works with all the other sensors so they may perform their duties, and not have to compensate for lack of its perfomance, I can talk all day about why ? engine will run like sh-t !!!!!!

Fuel air mixture too rich on a 98 nissan pathfinder

My guess would be a fuel injector or fuel pressure regulator problem, or a Mass air flow sensor.
The O2 sensor does not come into play until the engine has run for a couple of minutes.
Is the check engine light on ?

I just recently bought this 1995 Nissan Pathfinder Se- 4X4. THE SMOG CHECK FAILED CAUSE I NEED A OXYGEN SENSOR. WERE IS IT LOCATED? ALSO I NOTICED THE VEHICLE RUNS,BUT RUNS WIHOUT POWER, KINDA WIMPY.

Well there are usually several oxygen sensors but the only one that will affect how it runs is the oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter. That controls the air fuel mixture of your car and can effect performance. Also try replacing spark plugs wires distributor cap and rotor and air filter and fuel filter.

this should fix your problem please give 4 thumbs up it helps me help you all thanks

Hello,
When the MAF on most vehicles reach a point of preventing the engine from starting, you can usually just unplug it and the engine will start. If that doesn't work-
You may want to try having the O2 sensor, ( Oxygen sensor ), checked. It works with other components of the emission system and can cause similar symptoms as the MAF, including preventing the engine from starting.
