S10 pickup after warming up truck starts missing

We have replaced the spark plugs & wires, distributor cap & rotor button, oxygen sensor, fuel filter, and the ignition coil. The truck runs fine until it warms up then it starts missing. It is a 2.5 fuel injected.

Now the check engine light comes on as I start to slow down and then from then on it acts like it is out of gas. It is giving an error code of 44. the only other thing I have replaced is the ignition module.

Error code 44 means oxygen sensor lean exhaust. You may have a faulty O2 sensor or the wire for 02 sensor is grounding out on the exhaust, also check your EGR valve and make sure its working properly. They sometimes cause this problem if it is stuck.

    Hope this helps

Test your fuel pressure if you can, you should get around 9-13 PSI if it is lower than that it might be a bad fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator.
Now for the misfire wait for the engine to get warm and start removing one spark plug wire at a time, to see what cylinder is misfiring. Then it will be alot easier to find out the problem.

What would cause 93 chevy c1500 rough idle smells of excess gas at exhaust

Does the truck seem fine when you first start it & then acts up when it reaches operating temp?
That would lead me to look at my oxygen sensor, a bad sensor can cause the truck to run "rich" which would explain the fuel smell in the exhaust.

94 chevy s10 4.3 litre engine wont start. Its getting fuel and spark. pretty much everything is new. sometimes after a while i can get it to run. when it does i can drive it anywhere and its starts ri

might pull that cap again and see if the dist. shaft is loose
(side to side play) Sometimes the bushing wears out and the
magnet will hit the pickup, makes the spark irratic.Should have a new rotor with the cap, they also go bad.

I have a 1997 nissan quest xe and it runs pretty good in the morning when the motor is cold, but as soon as it warms up it starts to spit and sputter and sounds like it is fixing to die. We have changed...

When your engine is cold it runs in open loop, and bypasses the oxygen sensor. When warm it goes into closed loop, with the oxygen sensor controlling the fuel mixture. Replace the sensor.

you might check the ground wires to make sure the engine is grounded to the chassis, this will prevent the engine from starting.
