I have a ford f 150 2006 and need to replace the fuse for the cig
Cigarette lighter and 12v aux receptacle. The manual says the fuse box is under the instrument panel and is observable after removing the trim cover. I removed the trim cover and there is no panel. Also the manual is not clear on which fuse governs these

some cig lighter outlets have a U shaped + center pin. Sometime yer plug's - will engage it. ooops . Look for the two sides of the U and mark the edge of the outlet with red nail polish. Then when inserting the plug with a side pin, orient it away from the paint. Keep more fuses in the glove box
I suggtes check the position CIG LTR for Cigarette Lighter. The underhood fuse block in the engine compartment on the driver's side of the vehicle near the battery. Lift the cover for access to the fuse/relay block.
To remove fuses, hold the end of the fuse between your thumb and index finger and pull straight out.
Check the fusebox under the driver's dash for the aux or cig lit fuse. Test it with a continuity tester or simply replace with the same colored fuse. If that doesn't work, open your hood and find the fuse box inside along the drivers side. Find the aux fuse and replace it. Thanks for using Fixya.
the fuse for the front lighter is located under hood in fuse box it is labled AUX PWR and is a yellow 20 amp. The second power outlet/cig lighter is also in this box and is labled PWR OUTLET and is a grey 25 amp fuse.
there is a plug on the back of cigarette lighter. it has two wires. it could possibly be unplugged. test it there. it should have the positive wire in the center and ground on the outside. the cigarette lighter receptacles go out sometimes and can be replaced if you have voltage in wires but plug in doesn't work.
