Were is the fuel pressure sensor on a 2004 mercury mountaineer

1 Answer

Just so you know, I asked about the fuel pressure sensor,
at a local Lincoln Dealer, about a year ago

They only sold 3 in a five year period, for all vehicles, not likely bad

Put a gauge on the fuel rail port or use a scan tool
to look at data

It has to be in the end of the fuel rail somewhere, but you
may also have a fuel temp sensor,my lincoln ls does

What are the issues?,

SOURCE: 2004 Mercury Mountaineer Emergency Brake Adjustment

Greetings larslabs,
My name is Dennis and I can assist you to finding your parking brake adjustment location.
1) the adjustment is located so that you have to remove your center console floor finish panel (this is the drink holder).
2) raise your parking brake lever and gently pry the plastic tabs from the center console.
3) Once you can see the park brake lever you will see a nut that is turned to adjust the lever so that it has 5 clicks when it is applied.
Glad to be of assistance and thank you for using FixYa. Please rate the solution because I can learn from your rating (and it keeps my rating up to date). Thank you, Dennis

SOURCE: program 2004 mercury mountainer garage opener

Verify the hand-held transmitter is operative.
Prepare for programming the universal transmitter by erasing all three channels (hold down the two outside buttons until the red light begins to flash [20-30 seconds]). Release both buttons.
Select one of the three universal transmitter channels to be programmed by pressing the desired button
Hold the end of the hand-held transmitter 25-51 mm (1-2 in) from the front surface of the universal transmitter so that the red light can still be seen
Use both hands to press the hand-held transmitter button and the desired button on the universal transmitter. Do not release either button.
Hold down both buttons until the red light on the universal transmitter flashes, first slowly and then rapidly. Release both buttons when the rapid flashing begins. The universal transmitter has successfully learned the new frequency signal and can be used in place of the hand-held transmitter(s).
If the hand-held transmitter appears to program the universal transmitter but does not open the garage door, the garage door opener may have a code protected or rolling code feature.
To operate, simply press the appropriate button on the universal transmitter. The red light is on while the signal is being transmitted.
IF THE GARAGE OPENER HAS ROLLING CODES---
program as above then------
Train the garage door opener receiver to recognize the universal transmitter.
Remove the cover panel from the garage door opener receiver.
Locate the training button on the garage door opener receiver. Location and color of the button may vary by garage door opener manufacturer. Refer to the garage door opener instruction manual or owner literature.
Press the training button on the garage door opener receiver for 1-2 seconds.
Press the programmed universal transmitter button for as long as the universal transmitter red light flashes (1-2 seconds). Release the button and re-press the button to confirm that the universal transmitter is trained to the receiver.
The garage door opener should recognize the universal transmitter.

SOURCE: 2004 Mercury Mountaineer fuel gauge not working

The most likely failure that will cause your problem is the fuel level sender in the gas tank. The sender will cause both the fuel gauge problem and the check engine light to be turned on. The sender will need to be replaced to repair the problem.

SOURCE: Where is the throttle position sensor located on a

Remove your air intake hose at throttle body opening. Look at plate across front of the opening, the shaft in the center that it is attached to, will have your TP sensor on the end of it, at the outside of the housing. This may help. (picture)7fc7240.jpg

Where is fuel rail pressure sensor high input located on a mercury mountaineer

If you are talking about a trouble code for the pressure sensor, the sensor may be telling the computer the fuel pressure is too high. The sensor is mounted in the fuel rail on the engine.

The service engine light comes on with a code P0193 "Fuel Pressure High". The fuel pressure per the monitor is 39.6 PSI (273 KPA) and the bank 2 Long Term Fuel is 4.3 compared to 1.6 for bank 1....

this vehicle has a fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail. the sensor has a tendency to glich out on the voltage signal from time to time thus making the check engine light come on. does your scan tool have freeze frame data? if so see if the fuel pressure was high when the code set. if the pressure reads over 100 psi then the sensor is going bad.as for the fuel trim data, not an uncommon split from right and left banks if this reading is at idle. -7.0 to + 7.0 is accecptable long term fuel trim as long as both banks read rather close to one another.

If the pressure isn't actually high, I would say go for the sensor. Either the pressure is high, or the sensor is bad. If the pressure is high look at the pressure regulator.

The filter is located in front of the fuel tank on passenger side of truck behind a black plastic/metal shield. It is held on position by means of two 13 mm bolts and when you are removing the filter be sure to release the fuel pressure before that.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 mercury mountaineer

Hello, 2004 Mercury Mountaineer fuel filter is located in front and on top of fuel tank behind two shields. This is for 4.0L 2 wheel drive. When you look just behind the front passenger side tire you will see the first shield. Behind that is the second.
