Talk to your neighborhood aftermarket car stereo dealer. can probably get it cheap and may even change it out for free. If this was helpful, please post as such. If it works, please post as fixya.TY

Reconnecting/retiring Bose speaker cones. Inside speaker I have four coloured wires....Red,Black, Green & Orange....which connectors do they attach to on the speaker cone?

Since you posted this in cars and trucks I assume this is a bose car system. Most bose auto systems have the amp physically attached to the individual speakers. This means each speaker needs the following wires +12v, 12v ground, + signal and - signal. It also means that the head unit cannot directly drive a non bose speaker. If you are replacing the speakers and bose radio the best thing to do is to run new speaker wires. You can reuse the factory ones if you can identify which ones are what...and that may be a pain. If the bose amps are ok and you want to replace the speaker you would need to leave them connected and wire the new speaker to the wires on the bose speaker that come from the bose amp. Depending on the specific bose system there may be an actual wire that runs to the speaker from the amp but on others the amp is directly connected to the voice coil leads of the bose speaker.

Any special trick to replacing the dashboard speakers on my 2006 wrangler x?

HELLO,
Instructions

Remove the screws holding the dash speaker grilles in place, with the appropriate right angle screwdriver.

    • 2

Remove the screws holding the speaker in place, again with the appropriate right angle screwdriver.

      • 3

Lift the speakers from the dash. Disconnect the harness securing the wire to the factory speakers.

      • 4

Connect the aftermarket speakers to the speaker harness adapter's flying leads. Connect the adapter end to the factory harness plug, sticking out out of the dash.

      • 5

Set the aftermarket speakers back into the factory holes, and secure them with the original screws. Replace the grille covers, and secure them with the original screws.

each speaker in your car runs the wiring thru an amp. So each spkear has its own amp for the bose system. You can not hook up a none bose radio If you do you will need to run new wires and replace all the speakers. Sorry.

    Front speakers only produce static

The amps are on each of the speakers. There is a place in Florida that will fix them for around $85.00 each plus shipping. I put a sony unit in mine and replaced all of the speakers with the kicker ds series for less than fixing the bose system.

Removing front and back speakers in 1991 Grand Am....

There is a lot involved in replacing these speakers. You should also know that the original factory speakers are 10 ohm speakers. This means that if you replace them with new speakers (most of which are 4 ohm) you run the risk of damaging the stereo, the speakers, or both. This can also cause a potential fire hazard in your car. If you want new speakers, you really should look at installing a new stereo as well.

To get to the back speakers, you will need to remove 2 bolts located under the front edge of the rear seat (bottom). After you remove the bottom, you will need to remove the rear seat (back). This involves removing the bolts that hold down the rear seat belts, which is a large sized torx bit (T-45, T-47, or T-50... Don't remember which). After removing these, lift straight up on the seat back to remove. Now remove the deck brake light housing, and the bracket that holds it. Now the deck cover can be removed. Be careful not to bend it too much getting it out from under the side trim on both sides.

For the front speakers, you must disassemble a good portion of the dash. Remove the screw holding the light switch and the wiper switch housings. This screw is underneath each housing. Once removed, there are dash mounting screws behind them. These screws (and many of the other dash screws) are a smaller torx-bit (T-10 or T-15, don't remember which). Sometimes they use a 7mm bolt. There is a cover panel just above the glove box. This panel is held on with 2 screws located in the glove box. After removing this panel, you will find 2 or 3 bolts holding on the dash. Last but not least, you will find 2 bolts inside each of the defroster vent grilles. These grilles just snap out for easier access to the bolts.

How to replace front speakers in 1994 lumina apv

does the dash have speaker grills? if so they lift out, whether they are screwed in or not you have to check. if the dash and grills are one piece, you'll have to see if you can get to them from underneath. if not you'll have to pull the whole dash panel to change them.
