To find faulty component, under hood locate alarm hood switch and push it repeatedly till you hear audible beep/s then go round each door in turn and when opening and closing should hear beep and same with hood switch and boot, when finished testing leave for min approx then will hear another beep to show it has exited the alarm test.

I have a 2001 3.1td, it has stood for a while but when i charge the battery to start it the alarm goes and wont stop even with remote key or in the ignition, help

Hi Peter, I'm Al the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Peter, alarms are extremely hard to fix without diagnosing them first, I want promise anything but I surely try to help you. First, have you tried turning the key in each of the door locks to see if one of them resets the alarm. 2nd, try by-passing the hood switch, that is one of the most popular problems with alarms. Question: Is this an After Market Alarm or an OEM Alarm. For further assistance go to my website. Have an awesome day Peter. Auto Repair

Try and put the key in the drivers door and lock and unlock it several times. If that dosen't work try the same thing in the ignition switch.

All control panel warning lights flashing and headlights flashing on and off.

The ALARM HAS been triggered and so it is important to reset the alarm or else it will drain off the battery. If you can find the reset switch press down and put the key into the main switch to start the car. It must now reset if not repeat.
if none works then remove the battery terminal and check for the alarm settings/reset switch.

Changed the battery. The alarm went off, tried to reset but will not work. When driving push on the brakes and the car shut down. Is this an alarm issue or an electrical engine issue. Don't know what to...

Yes this is an Alarm issue that's why your vehicle is shutting down as soon as you press on the brake pedal. Is this an aftermarket alarm or stock alarm? Sounds like aftermarket alarm to me and if it is, the way fix this issue is as soon as you put the red n black terminal on the battery and the alarm goes off press your alarm key right away to turn it off. If this doesn't work put your key on the ignition after you have installed the battery and just put it on the "ON" position engine OFF then click on your alarm remote once again.
