Question about 1992 Lincoln Continental

1 Answer

Right Rear door will not open from exterior or interior.

I think the child proof lock was set since the door did open from the inside but now it does not. Totally stuck from both sides. What to do?

2006 Nissan Sentra. Right passenger door wouldn't open from outside, then my kid turned on the interior child lock, meaning the door is unable to be opened from either side. Where do I go from here? C

2 or 4 door? If 2, you should still be able to use key on exterior, and I don't think they have a child lock on 2 doors, so I'm guessing 4. With car unlocked, can't you open rear doors from outside even with child lock on?

Unlock back door

that is because you activated the child proof lock so that the kids cannot open the door from the inside .Find a way to move the latch and then the problem will be solved

My back doors wont open

If your back doors won't open from the inside then the child proof locks maybe turned on. Open the door from the outside and look at the edge of the door near the lock for a small lever or screw setting for the child proof lock. Tun off the child proof lock and then you can open the back door from the inside.

My rear passenger door will not open, how do i unlock the child proof lock

This usually set by a small mechanisum on the face of the door jamb on the door. If electics won't work then remove the interior door panel and go from there.

Right rear exterior door handle broke off interior handle does not work on either side

open the door from the outside look on the door seal while open in look for a switch or button that says child proof lock a lot of cars and trucks have these to stop kids from opening the door while the car is moving and rear doors can only be open from outside when set

Why the car can still can be opened from inside although it is already locked.

Locking the vehicle will lock it from the out side.
If you are trying to child proof your rear doors, when you open the doors, on each of the rear doors there should be a little button you can move to lock the rear door from the inside.
Please let me know if I can further assist you.

Both or my back doors do not open and i think its a child lock where would the child lock be located

If the doors open from the inside but not the outside it could be the child locks. The switch is usually located near the latch on the door. If that doesn't work, try taking it to a reputable body shop and they should be able to open the doors and diagnose the problem.

The lock on the driver side sliding door was stuck unlocked. Now it stuck locked.

you should clean the locking mecanism and then lubricate with WD40. If this is a van, my van has a sliding power door on the pass side and a manual slider on the drivers. alot of times the drivers locks and dont lock like it has a mind of its own but it always works with the drivers controls. and then the next time i dont think about it and it works. now it also has child proof locks on them, a little plastic lever you slide up and down as to put in a lock position so child cant open from inside and down to allow door to open from inside. double check this. it wont unlock with the key or power? you might have to take off inner door panel to manually unlock this and get it lubed
