Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
I was driving down the road today and suddenly out of no-where my sunroof decided to open up by itself. Now I have a jetta with an open sunroof and I have no idea how to get it closed. Is this something I can fix on my own or do I have to take it to the dealership?
Any help would be a blessing.
You can open and close you sunroof "manually" remove the plastic cover next to your sunroof and dome light buttons (above your rearview mirror) there is an allen wrench stored inside... insert the wrench into the corresponding hole and you can close or open you sunroof by turning the wrench

I have the same problem today , the sunroof open while iam driving in the highway at 120km/h . i play with the switch and its close again.
some times the open close switch give a signal to the main control to open the sunroof while the switch in the close position.
1- check the fuse for the sunroof it may have a short circuit.

Play with the open and close button more than likely it is stuck on the open position
might have to knock it hard a couple of times if that works remove the fuse if you can then replace the switch when able
