Question about 1993 Dodge Dakota

1 Answer

No blower for defroster

The heater and defroster work on my 2003 Dodge Dakota, but the blower where you can turn up the speed does not function. I still get heat out of it.

The blower on my 2002 Grand Caravan only works on high. Could this be a relay problem?

my 2003 dodge dakota lost the heater as well......all my wires were burnt black and melted together....Very lucky the truck never burned, or I suppose I was. Now I gotta try and get a new resistor and plug....Try that, I never did find the fuse for the heater.

Try replacing the resistor. I think those ones are located under the cowl on the passenger side. Ask a dealer to confirm that first.

My 2004 Dodge Dakota heater & defrost air comes

sounds like a heater core problem. Your heater blower is behind the heater core. If it is leaking, you will be blowing engine coolant vapors onto your window. Good luck

2003 Dodge Dakota heater blower just quit working, what could be the cause??

It could be the blower motor resistor module. It is located on the passengers side next to the blower motor.Make sure the connections are not melted.Because if they are you will have to replace them also.Hoope this helps.Good luck.

Blower ran on high on my 2003 dakota for a few weeks now. While using it today it stopped blowing on high also. Could it be the relay? Thanks JTF

there is usually a resistor / relay mounted in the heater box that controls blower speed - should be very close to the blower motor. I have seen these fail on alot of GM products with those same symptoms

The heater/defroster/ac switch

Sounds like a card located under dash behind your blower motor, on passenger side. When card starts going bad you will only have off and high (for awhile), then none. change the card, this thing controls your speeds on the motor at your control on dash. I have a 2002 Dakota had same problem... but keep in mind not all Dakotas have this card.
