which seal on the engine or transmission front engine oil seal not easy or cheap fix will need to remove accessories and crankshaft pulley ----if transmission than need to remove wheels and c/v axles the following link show how to change oil seals on a voyager https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=oil+seal+98+voyager&ei=UTF-8&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-004
The oil filter housing and the timing cover can all be worked on with engine in car. For the rear engine seal (rear main seal), the transfer case and transmission will have to be removed to access the seal. Most of the time, the oil pan can be removed without raising the engine. Check your clearance under there for anything obstructing removal. (I loaned out my Jeep manual and never got it back!) On some cars, engine needs to be raised about 4 inches for pan to clear the oil pickup tube. Don't know about your Jeep.
For your year of vehicle a change will not effect your engines seals. In the old days if your engines seals had conventional oil for a great deal of years and then switched this could eat your seal out. Seals have come a long way since the 70's and 80's.
Since you just had an oil change I am wondering if they did not under-fill the crankcase. The light blinking off and on means that the oil pressure is insufficient from time to time.
If the oil is full then it could be the oil sending unit or the oil pump.
Keep in mind that the oil sending unit is by the oil filter and if someone changes the oil filter carelessly they can damage the oil sending unit. That does not mean they did but it could be a possibility and than again it could just be going bad. Check the oil level and go from there. 5w30 motor oil should have been used as well.
the valve seals will leak over time ,,so as the car sits awhile some oil will seep done between the seals and get in the piston..so when uyou start the car the engine wil burn it out thruogh the exaust
you can live with it or if it get real bad replace the valve seals....which is a major job
depends where the oil came from.of it has leaked down from a valve cover gasket, that is not hard to fix.if it a leaking valve seal that is expensive and if the head gasket is leaking, expensive.look at the outside edge of the valve cover, and check the edge for oil.if there is alot of oil,by the time the plug is unscrewed oil can go inside.the oil would burn off,so if there is oil inside it is dripping down probably from a valve seal.take off the valve cover and inspect the seals they are probably no good.there are 2 seal sets, one is in the valve cover, and that results in oil on the outside of the plug, and the actual valve seal which results in oil in the inside of the engine.
1.Install the camshaft after lubricating the journal of the camshaft with engine oil.2.Install the camshaft bearing caps. 3.Install the ignition coil.4.Install the rocker arm and rocker arm shaft.Refer to "Rocker Arms and Rocker Arm Shafts" section.5.Using special tools, Camshaft Oil Seal Installer (09221-21000), press fit the camshaft oil seal. Be sure to apply engine oil to the external surface of the oil seal.Insert the oil seal along the camshaft front end and install by driving the installer with a hammer until the oil seal is pulley seated.6.Install the camshaft sprocket and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Your filter was installed either without the rubber seal, or the seal wasn't lubed before installation and it slipped, causing an improper seal. You will have to drain the oil again, remove the filter, and make sure it is reinstalled with a proper seal.
Your info is confusing. The rear cam seal is not inside the timing belt cover, and the crank seal is at the bottom of the engine, while the cam seal is at the top.
Is there oil at the top, around the cam seal? Or just at the bottom? It's common for the oil pump seal to leak. If you get the oil pump reseal kit, it contains the oil pump seal and gasket, as well as the crankshaft seal. Make sure you seal the oil pump bolts, Volvo has special copper washers for this purpose.
Just try to locate the oil leak before replacing any more parts. Sometimes it can be something simple like the oil cap seal or the oil trap housing.
