Sorry its a 5 speed. I was told by my mechanic that the gear box has a leak and I just wanted to check how much oil is in it.

There is no dip stick for the gearbox oil..there is a little rubber cover on a little tube sticking out of the gearbox housing. remove the rubber cap and fill through there.

Would like to know where the top up plug for my gear oil is and if there is a dip stick manual proton savvy bt 2006

Manual Transmissions don't have dip sticks.

2. Manual gearboxes have a drain and filler plug. The filler plug is usually found in an accessible position on one side of the gearbox which has to be accessed from under the vehicle.

To top up the gearbox the car has to be perfectly level so if you need to add oil to the gearbox you ideally need to get the car up on a garage hoist/lift so you can both access the filler plug easily, remove it and pump in the fresh gear oil. The usual correct oil level on these gearboxes is level with the bottom section of the filler plug opening in the gearbox. However you should check with the proton service staff on the correct procedure for topping up the manual gearbox in your car.

Hi Arlene, Open the hood and check the oil level in the gear box. The oil can be checked on the dip stick which is fitted into the gearbox. The level is checked with the engine running and the parking brake fully applied and the selector lever in 'N' On the dip stick there are four marks. The fluid level must be between the two lower levels if the engine has just been started and if it has warmed to operating temperature it should be between the upper marks. If the oil level is correct, the gearbox has a problem. Regards John

Where is the transmission dip stick, or how can i check the fluid level

if this car is AUTO the dipstick will be on the same side as the gearbox underneath the hood. clearly marked with a red (i think) coloured plastic handle you check the level with the engine running and in park. if MANUAL gearbox then look down the front of the gearbox and about half way up theres a hexagon drive level plug - 8mm allen key hex i think - remove this and fill till oil runs out with engine off.

Where under bonnett do i find the gear box oil dip 94 vitara

For a manual gearbox, there isn't a dipstick. There is a plug on the LH side of the diff housing part of the gearbox, just rearwards of where the LH driveshaft leaves the diff. Remove this plug, and the box should be filled to this level. This needs to be done on a level surface. If changing the oil, about 2.5 litres will be needed after draining the old stuff.

Dose the engine oil top up the gearbox oil in the toyota rava4 19

NO the engine oil only tops off the engine it self and the gear box uses a different oil and to top it off and check is different from the engine dip stick. Good luck and your manual should tell you when it's time to service your gear box oil.

Auto gearbox

if it has a dip stick under the bonnet you need to have the engine running with the box in neutral then dip the oil
if the engine is warm then it should read around the top mark, if the engine us cold then it should rear around the lower mark
if there is no dip stick then there is no way of checking the level and you will need to drain the box and re fill with the correct ammount through the gearbox breather on the top

They dont have a dip stick but do have a bolt that is removed Diff/transfer case and gearbox the bolt you take out is at the height/level that the fluid should be at and its where you fill the diff/gearbox.Its in the side of the gearbox about half way up.
