Iv got a 1990 toyota surf an i cant get it to start. its been sitting unstarted for about a mounth an now it wont start. we found that theres no desiel coming up through the fuel filtter or the injectors, how do unblock the fuel line or test the fuel pump to see if its working? please help
Most definitly the fuel pump. but good news, there is a fuel pump shut off switch located on the vehicle somewhere (on most models). check with your local parts store and they will be able to tell you if there is one or not. try this site (autozone znet.com) it will answer any question you have.

Sounds like air in the fuel line. Try turning the key ON and pumping the gas pedal (it may take 10-15 times) and then try to start the car. You need to force gas through the fuel lines to dispel the air it was pumping when the car ran out of gas. If it doesn't work the first time, let it rest and repeat by pumping the gas. Best of luck!
If it has glow plugs or an intake heater you will need to disable the circuit. Then you can use a small amount of ether to spray into the air cleaner.!!! If you spray too much and/or Dont disable the circuits you can damage the motor!!! When you spray the ether, if the engine starts and stalls then its not getting fuel. This could be related to the fuel pump, injection pump, the fuel system loosing its prime(fuel line leak), fuel shut-off valve or solenoid. If it doesn't start then it could be related to your timing, valves or maybe compression.
Fill your fuel filter all the way up and take precaution not to get any air into pump. Try this several times. Once you get air into some pumps it can be very hard to bleed it off. There should be some way to bleed. Look on pump for bleeder.
check the fuel pump, maybe it is not working. if you put a new accelerator pump, I wonder if it's same as the fuel pump. if so, maybe you need to rebuild your carb, clean the small fuel line in the carb, something block there.
