stalls. ? all the time, only cold , only hot engine? what year car?
can you save it with a fast right foot.? stalls can be caused by about 50 things, I have a list... but we dont guess, we do tests and diagnosis this. it can be one of these. 1: bad engine. (loses compression only hot?) 2: bad spark, ever tune it up? new spark plugs, etc? 3: bad fueling. (too little =starve, too much = flooding) 4: lost electrical power to the EFI system. 5: bad fuel.
A flashing light is BAD. Its damaging the cat converter. I would check or replace the spark plug wires ( if all OK, then) replace the coil pack. I would not replace anything unless they test bad. but these car are known for bad coil packs.
Sounds like there is a load of dirty fuel in that gas tank. Ran good for a while after changing fuel filter, then began to run poorly again. Remove fuel tank, drain and clean out, replace fuel filter AGAIN. That should cure it. Hope this helps
1. Vacuum leaks. Check all mounting bolts at the intake, check all hoses by wiggling them around. Listen with stethoscope or a length of fuel hose held up to your ear with engine running. You will be looking for a hissing sound. 2. Check egr valve. 3. Check air filter. 4. Check timing belt. ( you will need a timing light) If the mark is jumping around, your belt has jumped. If it stays basically in one place, it's good. 5. Check camshaft lobes. 6. Valves burnt or leaking. 7 Dirty or clogged injectors. 8 . Faulty idle control system.
I had the same problem,it was the hopper tank in the main fuel tank it was not staying full of fuel when the tank was at 1/3 full or less,in my case there was debris in the jet pump causing the pump to not pump.mine wasnt a hyundai but your problem is within your fuel tank.
