Car will not turn over or start...ignition not sending to starter..

I have the same problem. I replaced the starter thinking that was the problem. I think the problem is that I flooded the engine but not I am not sure. I was able to push start the car and had it running for about 1/2 hour. Once I turned it off the car wouldn't start again. If feels like there is not enough power to start it. Where can I find the coil?

Just curious, have you checked your coil? they are pretty cheap and when they go out the car will not even turn over like the battery is dead but all lights will work. they are also fairly easy to replace yourself, just be sure not to ground it out during install.
just a suggestion

No current coming from ignition to starter?

Current is measured when you have a "flow" of electricity. Do you mean voltage? The ignition sends a signal to the starter relay to close when you try to start the car and stops when the car is running and you turn the key back. So there won't be a constant voltage on the starter all the time, or the starter would always be running.

Car wont start battery good when I turn the key no noise

Sounds a lot like a bad starter. Is not common for the switch to go bad

2005 Altima that wont crank or make a sound, new battery. The battery connection was corroided, changed the connector and still no fire to the car.Fly wheel not moving all the around,no problems prior.

One portion of the ignition switch should send voltage to the starter solenoid, sometimes attached to the starter motor, on older cars, on the firewall. You can follow a lone cable from the battery (+) plus side to the starter solenoid/starter. It could be corroded where it connects to the solenoid.
So basically, the battery sends voltage to the dash, the ignition sends voltage to the solenoid in the start position, which activates the solenoid so it can send the high current from the battery to the starter. The solenoid has large contacts so it can carry the heavy current; that's why it's there before the actual starting voltage to the starter.

(Do the dash lights, etc light when the ignition is turned on? Does the horn blow? If not, all this is moot.)

Key out,can turn ignition , no start

01 pontiac have chip in the key. If you key is removed wont start. The key send signal tho body computer, body computer confirm pass code to engine computer ,ecm send signal to safety neutral switch next is starter relay and last is the starter.some times transmission switch is not line up correctly.turn the switch to start and hold and with other hand move slowly from park to neutral.if your car start inspect the shifter links or the switch for correct alighment.

Car would not turn off with key so they changed ignition ( 1997 Buick Lasabre ), now car wont start. everything else will come on but car wont start.

Changing the ignition was the cause of the NO START. These cars came with a SECURITY system already built in. The key sends a signal to the ignition which reads and sends another signal to the TDM (Theft Deterrent Module) computer which then sends a signal to the starter allowing it to start. I know it seems like alot, but thats just how GM did it. Changing the ignition may have interupted this communication and the car will not start until the communication is fixed. Here is a link with info on the system and ways to fix this yourself.

Wont start will not even turn over makes no noise when i turn the key. all lights and radio works

Check the wiring to the starter, check the starter solenoid, check if the ignition switch sends power to the starter wiring. It may be possible that the ignition switch failed. If the starter has 12V power, remove them and check if the starter is Ok when dismounted

Pontiac Sunfire '95 wont start

Sounds like the ignition switch has gone out. Take a service manual and follow the instructions on testing the ignition switch.

Won't start

there is no sensor that controls the starter motor, i suspect the problem lies with the ignition switch, there will be a single thin wire going to the starter motor, this needs to have battery voltage at it when you crank the ignition switch if you do not have battery voltage there then check it as it comes out of the ignition switch, i hope this helps

I have a 1986 prelude that won't start.

Why are you having to jump it? Bad battery...too weak....weak battery not supplying enough juice to the starter to turn the motor over....

You will need to have the starter tested to see if the ignition switch is sending power to the starter solenoid, if it is then starter or starter solenoid is defective.
