Starter cranks engine wont

Can you turn the engine by turning the alternator or water pump ?
If the engine turns freely, could be a problem with the cables to the starter or the starter itself.

I chang my starter wont crank wont do nothing

Have you remembered to connect the starter switch wire to the solenoid. This is the wire that activated the solenoid, makes the contacts for the starter itself and throws the pinion ito contact with the ring gear.
Ignore the jumper wire unless you want to test the unit out of the car. To do that , connect the earth to the body of the starter, the positive cable to the terminal shown on the solenoid and touch the jumper wire on the positive cable. HOLD TIGHT.

Change starter on 97 chev malibu

Check and load test battery. If good, use a volt meter across both terminals.. when.cranking, volts should not drop below 9.5. If it does, replace starter. No valid starter test can be done unless battery has been proven to be good.

1997 buick skylark wont start

Does it crank and not start or not even crank. You could have a bad starter. I would test the battery first. When it won't start try to jump start it. If it jump starts it's probably the battery. If it won't jump start it's probably the starter.

if starter fluid made it chug, I would suspect fuel pump fuse, relay or pump, also fuel filter.
