Question about 2004 Jeep Wrangler
I have a 2004 Jeep Rubican and the floor shifter suddenly cant be put into park. When lifting up the console for the shifter the pin that attaches to the handle was not pushing far enough into the gears. Do I need to purchase the entire floor shifter or can I get a replacement part?
YES THE PART THAT IS BROKEN IS MOST LIKELY A WHITE PLASTIC PIECE THAT SITS INSIDE THE SHIFTER HOUSING, REMOVE THE SHIFTER HANDLE REMOVE THE WHITE PLASTIC PIECE WITH ALL THE ROUND BALLS ON IT (I KNOW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU DONT HAVE TO SAY IT) AND LOOK DOWN THE HOUSING WITH A FLASHLIGHT IF YOU STILL SEE A PART OF THAT WHITE PLASTIC PIECE, THATS YOUR PROBLEM. YOU CAN EITHER REPL SHE SHIFTER LEVER P# 52078551AG OR SEARCH THE JUNK YARDS FOR THAT PART

If you are sure that the problem is only the shifter's pin and you have a mechanic who specialize in transmission, replacement parts would be enough.
