Replaced 93 intrepid cam sensor

Replaced cam sensor car will not turn over. was sputtering but then stopped turning over completely. help please

Di d you change this your self? sounds like connection problem turn on key do not crank engine see if engine service light goes out if not get a OBD 2 Scan tool to retrieve the fault code and proceed from that point good luck

Fuel injectors should be next on your list of things to check and replace. You might also check your oil to see if it has turned any abnormal color. This will let you know if you have a liquid leak in the engine. When you removed the old spark plugs were any of them wet?

93 volvo 850 gtl.Runs only while key is full turned let off engine stops. replaced coil set, crank sensor, cam sensor .


replace switch on steering column not the key switch there a switch on the steering column when you turn key a rod run from key switch down to this switch

2000 Intrepid sputtered and stopped running. Now it works! (huh?)


The first thing you'll want to check is the vacuum hose going to your MAP sensor. (Manifold Absolute Pressure) If the hose is cracked, dry-rotted, or disconnected, it will not only cause a vacuum leak, but the MAP sensor will actually think the car is driving up a hill or is being loaded somehow, because it isn't picking up a correct vacuum signal from the engine. If that's the case, the sensor is telling the computer to enrichen the fuel mixture all the time. This is a VERY good cause for no-starts and rough driveability.

Another thing you may want to look into is your coolant temperature sensor. As they wear, the thermistor inside is no longer calibrated correctly, often thinking it's a different temperature extreme from what it actually is. They're easy to replace, and it should be located right by your thermostat housing. It'll have 2 wires going to it. They're around $15-$20 usually, and it's good practice to change it periodically. (Change it while the engine is cold, of course.)

I certainly hope this helps you to get your car running normally again! :) Having an intermittent problem like that is frustrating, to say the least!

93 lumina stalls at any speed will start again always


Might want to chg. the fuel filter, (if you havent already), also do a fuel pressure chk. filter could be pluged up and in turn weaken fuel pump.

2000 dodge intrepid 2.7 sputtering, revs up


you need to ck some basics you could have a vacuum leak which would hide during warm up but cause havoc when hot,the leak would cause high idle then your pcm would try to lower idle to spec thru use of idle control motor causing surging idle ,also fuel pressure needs to be checked while acting up,may be more cost effective to pay for an hour of diagnostic.

Engine will not start!!!


was the timing belt changed, since it overheated the cam may have gotten tight and the belt might have jumped 2-3 teeth and you still would have a spark and fuel pressure.

I don't know if this will help but I had the same problem on a 1993 Intrepid. It turned out that the problem was a broken wire at the connector to the cam sensor. The way I found it was to have someone crank the engine while I moved the cable to the sensor and I could make the engine start and stop as I wiggled the cable.
