Stick a 12 volt test lite in the coil negative side, it should flash while the engine crank's, it will be dim, more like a pulsing glow, if this is not present the Crankshaft position sensor may be defective or the wiring to it. Make sure to check around the engine for any damaged wiring, places where the eng moves the most or the harness runs over something.

The cruise control on my 2005 grand am does not work. I checked for 12 vdc on the cruise control module (pin #F on the plug connector) but no volts. The fuses are good and I get power to pin A, B, & C...

Hi, you should have battery voltage at pin F when the key is on. Since you have power thru the clockspring, the problem has to be between the interior fuse box and the control module. The wire passes thru the fuse box under the hood. What I would do is trace the brown wire back to the fuse box and see if it has power coming into the box. If not, then I would trace it to the connector or *********** at the firewall. Sometimes a wire will be broken inside the insulation.

My 97 blazer s 10 4.3 vortec has no spark.have replaced ignition switch, disributor cap and rotor. replaced the brain and coil. have checked all in line fuses, fuse box and replaced the ignition...

there should be no action on the dash even with the key off.
problems like this are most of the time related to an extra starting system or after market alarm system being installed wrong or the wrong system was installed.
if anything like that has been done remove them back to like new before you do anything else.

Replacement of Spark Plug leads, Distributor cap, rotor for T100

I reccommend putting WD40 or CRC on the connections to stop them corroding over time. You also want to make sure the Distributor Cap gasket seals well to keep out water. last make sure you don't get the leads mixed up, best to replace them one at a time. cheers

I had the same problem recently but replacing the ignition Coil under the distributor (inside) solved the problem. Also replaced the distributor Cap and rotor at the same time.
