Re: Rear Door will not Lock
After researching this problem, I suspect it is the door lock actuator
located in each affected door. They can be purchased online. If you
also suspect this and want to fix it yourself by removing the door panel and the old actuator, then installing the new actuator, test the locks, then install the door panel. Or for more detailed information, go to this website for a
how to with pictures and written instructions.
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Lock/unlock motor may be failing. Remove the door panel and remove the connector from the lock motor. Check the dc voltage at the connector while pressing the lock switch. If you see battery voltage, replace the motor. If the voltage is low, inspect the wiring.
are you sure the battery is good in the remote? if so try putting the key in the driver door lock and locking and unlocking the doors three times in a row. if this dosent work i suggest taking it to an experienced lexus shop.
In time with usage, the electric locks in the doors and gates wear out. You can purchase replacement parts... a little involved to change but doable. I suggest a Haynes manual for photos for disassembly . (I've got a 2001 and all 4 doors eventually quit...bought replacement parts at local dealer) k
